loophole:
"sell" your stuff to a friend before divorce.
"buy" it back from him after divorce.

even if you sell it, she is probably entitled to half the money. I think you would pretty much have to sign it over to the friend for free, then after the wedding, get it back

If both spouses really want to, they can keep the fire alive. But marriage isn't something you can ever take for granted, its something both spouses have to work on everyday to keep it from getting stale and boring. And marriage is about communication and compromise, if the spouses can't do both of these, the marriage is over before it ever has a chance to flourish.

Everyone seems to be missing the idea that things can be "civil". Some situations people just want out and they leave EVERYTHING to the other person... usually you can negotiate a "trade". Ex: If he wants to keep one vehicle he could offer her another vehicle or the vehicles worth in furniture or other assets in order to keep the vehicle for himself.

Since your "friend" seems to be stuck I'd tell him to try having a civil conversation. If they can come to an agreement on their own it won't get messy and won't have to rack up high lawyers fees/lots of court dates.

Sounds like my cousin... when things got rocky for him he locked the "good stuff" in a cargo trailer at his friends house so she couldn't take it.

Other than a prenup, nope. With a good enough lawyer, even a prenup doesn't mean squat.
