I had a Neon for about a year, that thing was a beast, I took it camping and down to the sand dunes, it was a good little car until I decided that the car that had cut me off 4 times needed a good ramming so instead of the brake I hit the gas...that car went bye bye...

lol how fucked up was your neon?^^^ and also did anybody else have a bad problem with the paint comin off the neon almost every one i see has that same issue

It was pretty bad, I hit them hard enough the CD in my CD player shot out and stuck in the back seat...and to be honest I really wasn't trying to hit them like I said, I just hit the wrong pedal, but I was lucky that a cop was watching the whole thing and I didn't get the ticket they did...

wait. you say it has a blown head gasket, and that the coolant is all pretty much burned off, and that isnt normal? with a blown head gasket thats plenty normal, actually. and i highly doubt you somehow got coolant on the battery?....

Yeah man I totally had that issue well first the clearcoat started flaking off then the paint fallowed shortly I was about to repaint the whole thing black and do a second engine swap my dohc 2.0 for the 2.4 srt4 engine but then I realized I was gona have to much work and spending on my hand so I just sold it and got my Ranger best decision I ever made

Dude the head gaskets were bad, but not blown. The cylinder head is cracked and all of her koolant is every where under the hood. How can it burn up if it's every where else except in the engine? That was what that bluish green kolor was that covered everything.The weird bit is that it didn't throw any codes after I hooked my scanner up to it. My scanner said pass no codes found. That was the weird part about it. They'll be calling me here soon when they pull the head off and I've got my camera charging as we speak. there will be photos of the bad cylinder head up sometime tonight. Go back and read it a bit more my friend and you'll see what I was talking about. Here's another weird bit about it. It didn't smoke or anything and no weird noises either that you would find when something like this goes on.

Well they never did call me today so I guess there won't be any photos of the bad cylinder head. Dang it I says. They must've forgot or was too busy to get to it today. They project that mom's neon (Blah, cause it's a neon) will be ready sometime in the middle of next week.

Default An Update....

Well ladies and gentlemen, mom got her car back yesterday. $982.66 was the total cost of the repair bill. She was lucky. The cylinder head was warped along with the head bolts. The head gaskets were gone and so was the battery. I finally got to look at the heads after they were cleaned up and machined. The machine shop they used did an excellent job on the heads. The shop also hooked her up with Felpro head gaskets, and ARP head bolts. They also cleaned and machined the intake manifold which was desperately needed. All in all the shop cut her a break and did excellent quality work so now we're good to go and I can now get some rest.
