Default Re: Some peoples kids...

I think part of it is that the people who behave this way have no one in their immediate family has ever served. They have not idea what the cost is for the freedoms they enjoy, so they don't care. To them, it is too much like a video game.

After all, if you lump together everyone who has served, they only make up 7% of the population with less than 1% currently serving. Depending where you are from, that number will vary. The military and the percentage of those who are or have served is much greater in PA compared to most states.

It also seems that those in more rural communities are generally much more respectful than those from urban areas.

Granted, these are generalizations and I don't mean to paint everyone with the same brush but they do seem to be true over all.

And yes, Its disrespectful no matter how you cut it, free country or not.
I stood each morning at school and did that.. from 1st grade to my HS graduation.. i agree with what you guys are saying.. every bit of it is true. I just wish that someone would get ahold of those who chose to disrespect the anthem and put them in front of our troops out there... my brother has a shirt that ive been trying to find for a long time now.. its reads.. If you dont stand behind our troops.. stand in front of them.
