What's the ABV on that imperial? Most I've had are pretty high. Usually only come in four packs

This great lakes is pretty tasty. It's got a small bitterness bite but it's slightly more malty than hoppy. Overall very clean tasting. I bet that Stoopid is real close to Sierra Nevada Torpedo

This thread makes me want beer and it's barely 8am..

Anyways a few of my favorites are and in no particular order:
Yuengling - Lager
Yuengling - Boch
Guinness - Stout
Hoegaarden
Red Stripe
Bud Light (classic drink all day light beer)
Sam Adams - Oktoberfest (delicious, bought 5 cases when it started fading this last year, they didn't last nearly as long as I thought they would)

There are quite a few local breweries as well, they all have a few great beers. I like the IPA's, Pale Ale's & the Lager's.

i assume you meant they didnt last long in terms of you drinking them but i would like to note a wtf thing, i bought myself a fall special case with oktoberfest, irish red, boston lager, etc etc and the expiration date on it was only 2 months later...wtf cant imagine beer expiring after 2 months and there is no telling when the beer was made but it was bought in oct the first week of fall basically

Ha, yes that's what I meant. I drank them, with help. Sorry, re read that and it was definitely not specified.

Killed one case with a friend at my place in less than 2 hours. It started with "you want a beer"? And quickly ended with "we're out of Oktoberfest."

I don't know why they would expire so quickly, that's strange. Perhaps the higher amount of hops in a 'good' beer makes it go bad faster than say a bud light or coors light? Flat out shorter shelf life is my only guess.

Actually, hops are a natural preservative; that fact lead to the creation of IPAs.

Typcial shelf life for beer is around 6 weeks, but microbrews won't go that long normally as the smaller breweries don't have the extensive pasteurization and filtration processes that the big guys have. The other side of that coin is that less pasteurization and filtration usually means more taste.

I normally drink my beer supply fast enough that shelf life is rarely an issue... ----->

Who knew, thanks for the info! Still learning something new everyday

And yes, faster is better. However I wanted those Oktoberfest cases to last seeing as they won't make another batch until fall this year. Which is just plain too long to wait for more Oktoberfest!
