I think he meant $10 cash per hour paid at the end of the day, or at least that is what I read. If that were the case, as long as he paid for fuel I would LOVE to do that (other then selling crap) if I didn't have a job.

I worked for a friend of my dads when I was 11 to 13 for $5 a day every day cleaning horse stalls. Then again, at 11 any amount is worth it, lol. Actually saved up quite a bit, lol.

10 Bucks a day was what I was told and it took me nearly a half hour to get there. busniess wise this aint worth a damn at all. That wouldn't even cover my fuel expenses to even go out there.

You didn't read it wrong. To answer your other question I would've been stacking small decorative rocks onto pallets that are sold to lanscaping companies. The guy that was going to pay me for this owns a rock quarry. I thought I was going to be inside the quarry running some machinery of some kind and getting paid $15 bucks an hour. That was the impression I got, until I started the job this morning. That's when I said to hell with it. I can't keep going out there for nothing at my own expense and not get paid. Plus I can't wait that long till I do get paid which is not enough to even consider.

Sorry to hear about that !
It's a tough economy ,as we all know,
But "working under the table "
Doesn't help anyone and as mentioned
Above...it's illegal.
Hopefully the RIGHT job with the RIGHT pay
Is out there waiting for you soon!

I would've been honest about it and paid my taxes like I should. But I have also filed for disability to and working a job paying taxes would screw up the process as well. This is one of those "catch 22's" situations basicly. there are a few local temp services around, plus they're holding a job fair at VA Highlands Comm. College on June 30th. I'll try there next, but I think the temp services are a bad bet. I haven't had any luck at all with them and if I did, it was usually bad.

That's how I got my previous job that I did for 5 years until I got laid off, and my current job (through a temp agency). Then again, I wasn't picky about it 5 years ago, and I sure wasn't picky about it in November, lol. Not saying you are being picky, just that if they offered me a job, I would go, lol.

Well I aint going to lie about it, I am at that point. But the Temp services around here do indeed suck. I signed up with several around here in the past and have had to call them for over a year at one point. They even had the gall to laugh in my face and told me that there's nothing I can do to change that. Well I proved them wrong during that time too when I got on at Fedex as a driver. Then I laughed in their faces afterwards. That's the mentallity these agencies have around here now. @twork personel was and is the worse ones that are left. They are extremely lazy here in this area too. they only do 2 applications a week if they decide to show up. Now do you see what I would have to deal with?
