Here's the link with what I was saying...it's all different interperations depending on where you are. according to the article "while the State Patrol says its OK, Redmond says they will be citing you."

It figures someone would interpret things differently. That happens all of the time here in VA. One county says that's fine, while another says it's not. Did you get my PM I sent you yesterday by any chance?

I get distracted while just talking to my passenger! I hate having to drive when talking on the phone, and it is hard for me especially since I have a manual transmission! If my phone goes off with a call, I will answer and if it is quick, keep going; if it is a long call I will stop or try to call the person back. With texts, if I happen to have a passenger with me, I have them read the text and possibly text back for me. If I am alone, I will pull over to read the text and text back. The law for my town is (citizen voted) legal to text/call and drive, not Illegal!

My county and state voted in these laws because alot of us have had too many close calls with teenagers whom just got their liscenses texting while driving. I had to get sideways to avoid a sudden pull out and stop just so they can text. I cussed them a blue streak after getting out of my truck. Then the cop and a few others who also witnessed this incedent said what the other driver did was pure stupidity. The cat hasn't even had his DL for 2 weeks and already got a ticket for reckless driving, now that's bad. The cops here don't mind you talking on the phone period. But if they see you texting, look out.

Do any of you actually know what it was like to NOT have a cell phone in the car? no offense, but kids, teens, hell 99% of the population are wussies and rely on a cell phone. I'm not talking about the people who use a cell phone only in an emergency while driving, I'm talking about the people who will call their friend who they just saw 10 minutes ago, while driving 70 mph in heavy traffic, while it's raining out.
ask yourself this question - "can I go a whole day without using my cell phone?"
more people would rather give up drugs and alcohol for a month, than would give up their cell phone for ONE day.
I really hope that they ban ALL cell phone use in all vehicles UNLESS that vehicle is stopped and the engine is turned off.

X1 kazillion fufillion times!!! I only use my cell because I have no landline and its for emergencies. If i get a call, I let it go to voicemail and I will call them back when I have a chance.

luckily here in NC, we only have a no texting law (that I know of, i may be oblivious to NC cell laws though). However, just about EVERY cop you pass on the road, they have a cell phone to their ear.....

With that being said, I try to use the speaker on my phone but dont always.....
