Still have to repaint the ceiling but overall, I love it. Definitely need overhead lights in there now. All for under $300

Thanks dude! Yea, ceiling is getting repainted and the blue is getting a new coat as well as all the trim repainted white. Tiling is time consuming but easy as hell. You just have to plan it out right. And have patience. And the $300 was including all new fixtures and everything.

Awesome!

What exactly is involved in the installation of the tiles? Did you have to do it the regular piece by piece way, or is there a special kit that has tile panels?

Well, 2 years ago I redid the drywall with green board which is moisture and mold resistand (has fiberglass in it) so I didnt need any cement board installed. The tiles were 6x6 tiles and I installed each one...one by one. I stuck a level and plumb line on the wall and went to town. Now the border tile(darker ones) had a backing on them and came in 12x12 sheets. I cut them down to 4 rows and installed them. After everything was dry the next day, I grouted and sealed everything. The shelving was glued on after everything was done and siliconed around. Took about 15 hours total.

If you pay the gas, food, beer, and the materials I'll do the labor for free.

That was actually my first time tiling a wall before...And I've only done flooring once before that. So I think I did fairly well.

I'd paint the walls tan. Lowes has a color called "Ponytail" that would look sooooo good in there

Oh okay, awesome! Doesn't seem too hard at all. How long did you have before the grout and tile "glue" set?

The mortar (cement more or less) has to set up a full 24 hrs before you grout. The grout has to set at least 10 hrs to seal.
