Yes I do, and those jack stands have served me perfectly fine. They've held up my F100, my Ranger, mom's old Cavalier, my buddy's Bronco, and 3/4 of the vehicles on my street. Overloading them is where you run into problems. They have weight ratings for a reason, and if you do not abide by them, then you're gonna have a bad time. It's just common sense. The only time i've ever seen HF stands fail is when my dad had his car up on them, and forgot them and drove the car off with one still under the car. But that was his dumb fault, and showed lack of common sense to check to make sure he had clearance.
And no, I still have the factory jack, but I find that i've been lucky enough to never have a flat in any of my trucks. It's always been the cars.
You would make an awesome lawyer man, but I sure as hell would not want to be cross-examined by you.

This is my point. Anybody who expects HF stuff to last is gonna be in for a surprise.

As was mentioned earlier, I will not be using the TW to set pre-load in my rear axle, nor will I rebuild a motor with it. So accuracy isn't a mqajor factor here. As for Snap-on, no way in this world am I gonna spend $100 on a TW i'll use maybe 10 times in my life. This is why I picked the HF TW up.

hehehe... ummm... thanks?? [given that some folks hold lawyers in fairly low regard, I'm not sure whether that's a compliment or not!!]
anyway, I didn't mean to come across as cross-examining anybody... I just was trying to clarify your position. I, personally, wouldn't trust HF jackstands any more than I would trust HF screwdrivers, torque wrenches, or socket sets -- as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, most of their tools (despite being named after an american city) are inexpensive, mass-produced, chinese junk.

In the context I used it in, a compliment. You have a knack for getting the hard details out of people, in more than just this thread. You press for the opinion and truth, just like a lawyer.
Oh no doubt about it if I did automotive work on a regular basis, I would never even think about using HF stuff. My jack gets used maybe 10 times a year. And the same goes for the jack stands. For what I use this stuff for, it really serves it's purpose. I really can't justify spending $300 on jack equipment that I use maybe once a month. I've been lucky that my jack and stands have served me well, and that's definitely the best of my luck.lol.

Re: Harbor Freight is crazy.
I've had good luck with Harbor Freight. You just have to pay attention to what you are getting. Like stated above, they don't have the best stuff out there. You get what you pay for. As long as you keep that in mind, you should be ok. I got one of their rotary tools for a job when I was running low on cash. It did the job but didn't last long after that. I got my money out of it considering. I bought a Dremel not long after the HF rotary tool crapped out so I'm good now.

Re: Harbor Freight is crazy.
I consider the tools they sell as some that wasn't quite up to par but still has some use. Plus they're handy when you're low on cash. They still have some decent tools though, but like someone said earlier. You get what you paid for. But I'm pretty sure they carry alot of different brands though.

Re: Harbor Freight is crazy.
I have a ton of shit from HF. Some are garbage, and some are great. NEVER buy their spring compressors.

Thanks for the tip because I was just about to buy one of those online not long ago. I really need some ratcheting boxed wrenches very badly. I've got enough sockets to choke a horse. How are their Impact Wrenches and lifting tools such as the cherry pickers?

Re: Harbor Freight is crazy.
They failed for me on their first use. First the cotter pins broke on the bolts on top of the large screws. We welded them back on, then the screws seized up while a spring was under compression. Cutting them off was like Russian roulette.

The bolts on the cherry pickers suck in my opinion. My cherry picker is from the 90's, and it seems to be good quality, but I did replace all the bolts with grade 8 stuffs. Idk what it had on originally, but they weren't safe as far as I was concerned.
Their engine stands absolutely scare me. Dad had a 350 4 bolt main on one, and it creaked like no other.

Re: Harbor Freight is crazy.
I have had the same small Stanley tool set for about 10 years and it has never failed me. I have been a bit rough with them and they are showing some wear, but so far so good.

Piss on that. I want to have fun doing what I do and not have to worry about getting killed because of tool failure. I'm glad I didn't buy one those after all.

Well then that settles that. I'll go to sears or autozone for those tools then. I want to use them and not spend my time repairing them. How's their cordless impact wrenchs?

The torque is pretty much non-existent. My dad lost battery after 1 wheel.

Mine isn't bad but I used it for my 2.5L engine and not a 350 and I didn't buy the cheapest one. I got the next step up because it was on sale for almost the same price. I think it's rated for 1,000#. Anyway, there is a big weight difference from what you were using one for and what I was...

My buddy has a HF engine puller and it seemed fine but then again, it was used on a 2.5L engine, not a 350.
