tuning computer controlled cars
Here's the issue. My wifes car is an 07 pontiac g6 gt and occasionally I take it out and beat on it a little. But what gets me is that it has a traction control for its traction control. And by that I mean it won't spin long enough to smoke the tires and having the power definitely not the problem. It spins for a second and stops and spins and stops. Does anyone know how to tune cars like this or know what I would have to do to get it to stop?

Hi well I would recommend you stop. That is a cavalier on a grand am platform.
But if you must, there should be a dash button to bypass it, it'll do it at it's leisure.
Or you could pull the fuse to disable the system. Again commuter components, designed to attract women buyers.

Its far from a cavalier and even with the traction control off it still spins and stops.

No, not far. It was actually built from a concept for the Cobalt. . . Nuff said.
Pull the fuse. But be warned it's a GM and one electronic failure can and usually does lead to multiple others. If you really want to back up your assesment check engine, tranny and other part codes to a cobalt. . . . .

I believe your thinking of the g5 which is the cobalt in another form which are compacts. The g6 was the replacement for the grand prix which was a mid size car.

no I'm thinking G6, was at the car show here, my girl was looking at the new Conv. G6 and we talked with the reps there that explained it's make up and reliability. Note that's why I mentioned a cav on a grand platform. . .
Don't take it as a put down, it's just to say that it's not really built to take punishment. . . That's all bro. Increase the peace, just trying to save you some bills.

No no its good. Its just that it was explained to me that it shares nothing with the cavalier or cobalt other than gm's design and engineering habits. But from what I have read about other peoples g6 experiences, they are pretty tough.

Yea, remember to keep in mind, there are alot of young and inexperienced people out there waging war on their tires and have yet to deal with the aftermath. I know alot of guys in the racing industry that race G6's against 350z's etc. (SCCA)and there is quite a bit to upgrade.

I'm not looking to race but the occasional smokin' em from a light would be nice cuz around here there are a bunch of people that I know with little old thrown together civics that just need to be shut up by a car like mine all stock and still faster than them.
