i was backing up today turn my wheel to the right and bamb i was hanging over a loading dock. bent the fuck out of my drive shaft my flowmaster 40 series muffler and the gas tank 2 out of 3 are ok but the drive shaft needs a new one. 300 dollar fix. just need to look over my shoulders now and slow down. lucky it wasn't a car crash.

2wd or 4wd? If 2wd, those shafts are pretty darn plentiful. If 4wd, oooooooo have fun. Reg cab short bed 4x4's are kinda a rare item. Junkyard shaft it!! $100 fix!

thanks guys its a 2wd. i took it to the guy who did my lift and he said do not drive it!! the yolks will come off and the shaft will drop. and then destroy my hole under body. i drove it home just fine i have pics of it right here. getting it repaired something like that he said on wesnday. don't need a new one just a repair. get it back the same day which is really nice. and i was at a goodyear warehouse picking up a bbq we had there and the loading dock is right next to the front door where i had it parked. i put it into reverse and turned to the wheel to the right not paying attention and over the side i went. weird feeling it was. not scared but like really mad. i didnt know it hit my driveshaft until i reversed and went forward like 20 times drove it out and look at the damaged and my heart dropped seeing it all dented in and scratch.

Getting a junkyard shaft is alot cheaper than getting a shaft cut and sleeved.... that's what they'll do. But otay.

oh i understand now you weren't on the dock but in the truck Alley. you know if you pitch a fit the owner would have to fix it for you. there's some building code that says the Alley needs to have rails/fencing of sorts and painter a safety color just so thing like that dont happen . unless there is a sign some where that reads (authorized personal only)

Man, that must have made a terrible noise. Sorry for your mis-fortune. That's a good looking truck, though!

In at least Portland Oregon, a gaurdrail of some kind is required. And the pic appears to be a curb... a gaurdtail of a certain kind.

thanks seeburg220. i wash and wax her once a week. just stupid careless driving did this. its ok though its only a drive shaft. at least i didn't wreck and total it. knock on wood i don't lol everyone keeps telling me to make goodyear pay for it but it was my fault i went over even if there is no rail its still my fault so im not going to start a case with them and fight it to the end and make it take a year to solve for 300 bucks. we learn from our mistakes.
