So I got my new 2011 ranger about 2 weeks ago and didn't fill up till this previous thursday. So I went about a week and a half without filling up and now I filled up and it says that I am about half way through the tank. WHY?!?!?! I'm not driving any more than I did in the first few weeks I had it. This is probably a really dumb question but I just am really confused on this...

rangers get bad gas mileage it sucks =( but when you hit empty there is still roughly 5 gallons, at least on mine

If it doesn't make a big difference then why is my gas disappearing like salt sprinkled on a snail? When the dealership filled it up it actually lasted a decent amount of time.

this might be dumb too, but are you sure it filled up all the way? i've had the pump shut off several times before the tank was full. depends on the style of pump i'm at though

yeh I filled up all the way and I havent been using more miles and that is why I am wondering why it is lasting a relatively short time compared to when the dealership filled it up.

let it break in first....like 5 more fill ups and thennnnn tell us what the mpg is and we will tell u if its worth bitching about or not

some are like that with mine. of course CA is being gay and taking the auto fill chingadera off some of the pumps because they're a "fire hazard," fucking morons...

i found a sweet spot, you gotta pull it out juuuuuuust enough that it still fills. i think what happens is that gas comes out of the pump too fast to go down the filler hose/let vapor escape, causing the neck to fill up and give a false full reading to the pump.

it seems to me also that the pumps are running slower too...im standing for like a few mins longer than usual
