Crf450r. It's like cheating riding that bike.
FYI: The CRF makes more power than the DOHC Yamaha, and it was only a 5v for 1 year.

Re: Next Dirt bike?
5 valve changed in '10. I had an 02 250f and walked all over crf 250's. I dropped the rear sprocket to 46 tooth and was hanging with 250 2strokes as well. I did ride my buddys KTM 2stroke, it was a 125 that he had motor work done to (he raced) I thought it felt to skinny, to much like a pedal bike. yamaha fits me good.
----------
from crf wiki: While the introduction of the shorter skirt on the piston helps to reduce reciprocating mass, it also leads to more "rocking" of the piston, or minute unwanted rotation of the piston around the axis of its wrist pin. This leads to more frequent maintenance intervals for the pistons, piston rings, and cylinder walls.
basically, you will be tearing your bike apart more than you "might" with a yamaha

I agree about the K-Mart Trailmasters (see what I did there?) but I have a problem with the regear thing. I'm semi-race myself (05 CRF250R) but I also do trail riding. I changed down from a 52 tooth (stock) to a 48 and it was snappy as a 2-smoker but I lost top-end so bad.
Also, I disagree with Wikipedia. If you use the bike right (not on the rev-limiter allllll the time like most people do with 250s) you arn't rebuilding the motor all the time.
I stand on the suggestion on a CRF450R.

Re: Next Dirt bike?
you must have went up in rear sprocket if you lost top end. That was my problem with the stock 49, I was revving out in every gear to quick and when we went "field" riding, hahaha. Up in the country it was revving out in 5th. Going down to a 46 I got more out of the gears. Also got clocked at 98 the night I went to jail. That story is in a thread on here somewhere

Re: Next Dirt bike?
Yamahas are bulletproof if u take care of them, hondas ull spend more in the long run maintaining it. Yamis arent the fastest stock but that isnt a huge difference between them at least u will have a solid bike
