The sucky part is, the one that became a vegatable after it happened, spent his 21st birthday and many since in a nursing home.
Oh I know man. I was very lucky to catch myself twice. I work lawn care now, and I always break the yards up into about 8 sections. I always drink about half a bottle of water after each section, and then about every 3 sections I run water over my arms and head to cool off. Now I'm kinda paranoid about getting it, so when I start to get some of the lesser symptoms, I start to feel strange, and I immediately go get water. Haven't a problem since. It's always a worry of mine though.

Wish you all the Luck in the world. I broke left leg in 10 places in 2009 Cycle wreck. A month before had 5 stints put in. Had 2nd surgery on leg last March 2010. Took me 2 years to get my Disability. It hurts to go from 3000.00 week to 1600.00 a month. But I am not homeless yet!! Hang in there.

Yeah I know it gets rough. I was working at a local Mcdonald's restaurant a little over a year ago and wanting something alot easier on me phyiscally. Going from over $3,200 a week, to just over $500 a week to less than $450 every 2 weeks was a tough challenge but I over came it. I left Mcdonald's cause half of them wouldn't work, they cut my hours and my health was turning on me. So I left. I've never seen an economy like this in years. Not since the early 80's during Reagan's first term in office (it took him 4 years to fix Jimmy Carter's fuck ups).

Yep. It's always best to keep kool which I do more frequently now ever since this happened to me. It still lingers in the back of my mind though. I was lucky and it only affected my memory a little bit. The other stuff started right after my heat stroke. My mobility issues all started with a measly leg cramp and have gotten worse. My back has been royally screwed up for years. I have either 4 or 5 slipped discs. It feels like someone is grinding 2 uneven rocks inside my spinal column when I go to stand up or sit down and I can only sit in certain seats that doesn't cause my legs to go numb.

best of luck to you. I filed for disability, but was disaproved twice, even though i'm 200lbs overweight, have diabetes, lymphedema in my lower extremeties, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, can't stand in one place for more than a minute, have artheritis in my knees, and am on a drug for my lymohedema which causes me to use the bathroom about 30 times a day (usually about once every 30 minutes)
But after all that, the review bored said "since i'm not blind, I have all my limbs, I am not qualified for disability."
so now, I'm unemployed, have no college degree, i'm almost 44 and the type of Job i did, I can't do because of my "conditions" yet, I am not able to do any other type work, because i don't have any "experience" in any other type work.
I'm $40,000 in debt and don't know what to do.
and, for you Jokers out there, I've applied at over 500 jobs since 2009. and many are too scared to hire a fat guy, because they think i'm going to die on them.
I even told them at interviews that I would not be using any of their insurance, so i would be saving their company $$$$$.
and, one of my interviewers was NOT impressed with my having only one job since 1986.
Yes, from 1986 until 2009, (except for the 4 years in the Navy) I worked at the same Job. which to some interviewers, I guess, isn't good.
I always thougnt Longevity at a company told Interviewers that you were a "solid employee"

Ok, Rant over, sorry.

I know man. I've seen people in a vegatable state caused by multiple things such as heart failure, strokes etc. and not even knowing who they are get turned down. They've got it fixed to where you have to get a lawyer and the deck is stacked. I have alot of education but it hasn't helped me much at all. Only my truck driving school helped me out some which was almost a decade ago. I quit driving professionally in 2005. Longevity at one company really doesn't help you much except in trucking.

That's SSI not disability. The type I filed for means you can't work at all which sucks. You retired basicly there is a difference my friend.

I already have been doing that. It still takes me a while to get in and out of my ranger. Back pain doesn't quite do it justice. 5 slipped discs, along with severe pain in both hips and my left leg is just about useless, and I walk like Otis Cambel on a saturday night off the Andy Griffith show. That's a good day. A bad day, I can't even move at all. But I do appreciate the info though, thanks.
