its still insanley high. fuel was this price when oil was over $100 a barrel. Its like $80 now and still the same price.
True, but I still would rather pay $3.10 vs. $3.40. I haven't seen any stations below $3.00, but I heard that a Speedway near here was selling gas for $2.99. I hope this isn't temporary, but winter is coming and there are a lot of different blends for sale in the U.S. I would be gratious if prices stayed around $2.50 or lower, but I doubt that will happen.

It's $3.12 at some places here and a local super market called "Food City" has their fuel bucks program going. If I use my supermarket card here I get $.15 off every gallon. Their price is $3.13 a gallon and some others are still at $3.15 a gallon. I love how the oil companies blame everything on the polichickens. They'd raise the price just because people are breathing if they could. Plus Obama is trying his absolute best to get re-elected which is indeed not happening. Jason is right about the media not covering it when it is low, but when it goes up you surely hear about it then. The main reason gasoline is so high is because our currency is unbacked and keeps losing its value each and every year and then you throw in inflation to the mix, and then it really gets bad. The oil market is set up for the U.S. Dollar and nothing else. It takes $2 dollars to equal one euro and in 1998 the euro wasn't worth no where near what it is now and it keeps getting stronger to. My aunt swears up and down that we'll be using chinese currency by next month, but in reality it could take up to 10 years just to get our currency changed to something like the euro. Basically my aunt is a boob and doesn't really know anything about what's going on and she has never understood the value of money or even where it comes from or even how it's made.

Well, the short-lived lower fuel prices here are already gone. The more expensive Shell station stayed at $3.24 for the last three days. Today it was lowered to $3.19, while the other stations that were at $3.13 jumped back up to $3.28. Too bad the wife drove the Ranger, and her Edge was already pretty full.

X2. I paid $3.12 a few days ago and it's back up to $3.29 here today. I don't worry about it too much though, there's nothing I can do about it except lube up and take it.

It will go back up for a little while and then fall again. I don't get any fuel from BP or Shell. Usually I go to the supermarket I mentioned earlier or to Sunoco.

lol. I only get fuel from shell/BP. The fuel at places like wesco/family fare/meijer just really dont seem to give the power or mpgs. I know it all comes from the same place, but im not kidding, numerous people I have talked to has said the same thing.

I stay away from the Shell stations up here because they're usually higher than everyone else. They may get their fuel at the same place, but each station has their own additives. With Shell they add Nitrogen to their fuels. Sunoco usually adds nothing and my supermarket fuel has just a shade too much of ethanol, but my truck comes alive though when I use their fuel. The only downside I have with their fuel is that I have to use more of it than anywhere else. I stay away from BP do to the Gulf oil spill and the results of several investigations by independent agencies found them to be irresponsible at best. Plus they also tend to be higher than Shell is within my area.
