Driving with a bed on the roof...?
Not with my Ranger, haha.
Alright, long story short - I'm flying out to Denver, and driving back with my friend, thats moving in with me. She has a 1999 VW Golf, and the interior will have enough room for all her stuff with the seats folded down and such, but the matress. I am trying to convince her to sell it, because 1400 miles w/ a bed on the roof would suck. She's really stuborn on bringing it, and etc... lol.
But, do you guys think it would be okay? Like safety wise?
Idk, just your opinions I guess.
Oh, and no roof racks. =[

Re: Driving with a bed on the roof...?
You will have to cut a hole in the bed so the antenna will stick up still, so I say sell the bed...

Re: Driving with a bed on the roof...?
All I see is a stiff breeze and the mattress ripping off the roof and slapping into a sign or someones windshield. Funny to visualize, but otherwise pretty awful. Sell it

At first I thought you were talkin about sellin the car and I thought "Well that's a little extreme". Why go through that much trouble for a mattress? If she REALY wants it, rent a small u-haul and fill that sucker up. That's make the car ride more comfy too.
