Andy. I cut you slack. I moved on. You are probably a young kid. I just thought it was dumb. But we should move on.

Not sure of the exact amount but it was under 10,000.00. I am thinking it was 9600 & change.
I could have got an XLT. But I didn't want one. I was just replacing my winter beater/ work truck. I didn't have anything fancy before & didn't need anything fancy now.
The Ranger just gets be back & forth to work & to haul stuff from time to time.
My other vehicle is a 30,000+ 07 Mustang GT (was when I got it anyway)
My wife has an 07 Toyota we purchased new.
So I don't feel bad having a plain Jane Ranger to kick arround & keep my Mustang for the W/Es

What idiot would spend $1500+ to fix the timing chains, guides, and tensioners on a high mile engine that has had a hard live, and in the end you've got new timing chain system and a still beat ass bottom end?!??? Engine has to come out anyway for the rear chain...

Soooo sorry if I think swapping to a lower mileage engine with known revised timing chain setups is smarter than fixing the existing engine in my situation or other peoples situations. Thought I explained myself fairly well in Matt's thread. $1500 for a timing chain swap at a mechanic. Or $1500 for a low mile replacement engine....the special tools to do the job sure as hell ain't cheap. If yours was beat to piss by yourself and lived a hard life, what choice would you do?
IDK if you noticed but I'm not the only one who agrees with this logic.
I'm done.

She has mostly highway driving going to work & back. In the summer she gets 38-42 MPG & the winter 35-37MPG.

although, the much anticipated new fiesta is suppossedly capable of milage that even surpasses the yaris, fit and versa
FORD FTW!!

Yes, I am looking forward to the Fiesta's return to the US.
I will buy one for sure. If they offer it with a turbo version like they are hinting about. I will trade the Mustang for one.
