Re: Moddin my Crf230f for performance gains!
I just ride trails, just recently i found a trail in my back yard (we own 6 acres of woods) and it leads to an abandoned track with an old observing tower, its pretty cool its all overgrown but i still ride it anyway

Re: Moddin my Crf230f for performance gains!
I'll prob mostly ride trails and such but occasionally take it to the local track on practice days for fun.
I'm about 6 foot and 210lbs. I know it'll be a lot of power to start but I don't wanna get a small bike and out grow it in 6 months. I want a bike that will be enough power as my riding skill improves.

If ur gonna do that I def would get a yz250f yamahas would be the least maintence and for how big u are it would be perfect for quite a while considering ull be able to valve the suspension to ur weight ull hate a ttr after about a month ull be way to big for it and want a 250f anyways plus a stock bikes not gonna rip out of ur hands. But ull regret gettin a trail bike if u actually wanna go to the track

What are the differences between a trail and mx bike? I know that mx bikes are kickstart and the don't have a kickstand.
You think that it will be that big of a difference? I'm probally not going to get too serious into racing, maybe a low amateur class just for the fun of racing. I will most likely only go to the track on a practice day just to ride a track.
Oh, and is there really that big of a difference between a 230 and a 250?

Re: Moddin my Crf230f for performance gains!
The main thing is ull hate the suspension on the ttr its night and day difference u can always add an electric start and kickstand, theres a huge difference I guess u could say suspension capability wise it would be like comparing a stock ranger to a trophy truck. U can do numerous motor mods eventually as well its endless where as u will be stuck getting a ttr price wise u cant go wrong and resale is way better on a 250. Plus if u decide to race ull actually have a class to race in too. But the bike wont be too crazy ull be able to get a few years out of it.

Ok, cool!
Thanks! I graduate in 2 weeks so I'm hoping to get enough money to buy a bike.

Re: Moddin my Crf230f for performance gains!
Maintence! Ktm and kawi are ok but u gotta be rich to keep them running a lot more work than a hon yam or suz. Ive ridden them all at one time or another but I keep going back to yam, its the cheapest to maintain and the stock motors are bullet proof.

OHHHH!! Yea, I'm not rich soo, I'll stay away from those. ahaha
