I remember at this point last year, the weather was awesome. We did have wont ofe the worst winters in a long time though. I don't know if the weather now means we'll have an even worse or more mild winter this year.
I hope it's bad. 4x4 + snow = fun!

+1. I hate cold weather, which is why I want to live in Arizona one day. But I figure if the weather is going to suck, might as well have a foot of snow to play in!

In '98 I had a 2 year lease on a Tacoma Prerunner 2wd, which came jacked up sky high like the 4x4's and with tires that were at least 31's but i actually think they were bigger. That truck was an absolute nightmare in the snow, even with a few hundred pounds of sand in the box. I vowed that as long as I live in Michigan, I would NEVER drive a 2wd truck again.

Usually it doesnt snow that much here, but thats one reason i got a manual instead of automatic. I had that 94 ranger with manual and it was 2wd and i could get around "decent" in the snow... Only prob with it, I changed out the stock size tires for lower profile (or as my dad called them) "fat skinny tires"... haha... They didn't work in the snow, but they looked awesome on my truck... The next winter I got a set of spare rims so I could mount me a set of snow tires and regular tires on the front for winter use...

you all up north are getting cooler temps and we down south are broiling because not a single hurricane occurred this season. hurricanes take all the heat that builds up over summer around the equator and disperses it to the northern latitudes and gives the north less harsh winters. also the heat that leaves the south gives us less broiling winters. since no hurricanes happened, our average temperature for the month of october has been 93

this is supposed to be el' nino year, and we're supposed to have a milder winter, but who knows whats going on... I looked at pics last October and I was wearing shorts and t-shirts still... And usually our early Nov is still 60ish... But this year has been a colder than normal October for the ohio valley... I'm still hoping we dont have a severe winter, I just hate a lot of snow...

But the weather guy on a local Louisville station said that we may have a similar winter to 1977, and he said that 77-78 was one of the snowiest winters in Louisville history..

That's why all the "global warming" nuts now call it "climate change".

If I had to make a judgement call as of right now I would say that ist's gonna be a nasty winter. Unless you are into freezing you butt off for a thrill. . .

I do not like driving here when it's clear cause of the sacs that do not know how to drive. One winter here can bankrupt Geico.

climate change..not weather man..lol depends on where you are i guess. we're gonna see a bit warmer of a winter here than usual.
also.. since i just got back from my global climate change class, i learned that yes, N. America is cooling, there is tons of data to prove it. BUT, the Global Temperature is rising. so "global warming" is still relevant, regions are not important, only the Earth as a whole is when referring to Global Warming. Climate Change is the name now because it makes people happy

I heard a lady today say that she hasn't seen a "good healthy" winter for at least 30 years around here. I take it she's referring to a cold snowy winter, so that must be a climate change to this region... I lived just south of Chicago for a few years, and it hasn't been near as bad of winters there in the last few years as people said they used to have back in the 50s-70s... So apparently all of N. american has had a significant climate change in the last 30-40 years...
