Default Tornado levels my...

I actually got pretty lucky wednesday night. As far as I knew only our power was out. When I went towards Bristol today I was sadly mistaken. From exit 32 off I 81 to roughly about the first abingdon exit pretty much was leveled wednesday night by a tornado. While easing through traffic I Managed to get a couple of photos and my mom snapped a couple of pics:

It missed my location thankfully, but it leveled Glade Springs. So far from what I gathered, 8 are confirmed dead and at least 13 are missing.

Also, i heard about the big storms in the us, dunno if its in your area, they were talking about 29 deaths or something?

We've had crazy winds today, haven't been able to sleep all day with the noise..

Yeah there were quite a few Rangers we seen but the camera went dead again and couldn't get any more photos. But this hit just south of me wednesday night and it was the same storm front that started out west. I tried to get a pic of what was left of the Petro Truckstop but couldn't get enough of a view. It was completely destroyed except for the awning.

I am pretty sure we got 120 KMH (70 MPH) winds today, took down quite a few large trees and knocked out the power to most of western Ottawa, Garbage can havoc everwhere, OMG its a 2012 Sign . Sorry to hear about all the deaths in the U.S. its pretty crazy how bad it is down there.

Waaaaayyyyy more than that. There were over 100 reported Tornadoes. I think the death toll is over 200 now.

Thanks for the video man. We got lucky. Zak, I have lived in this area for 34 years and have never seen a tornado hit this area but one time and it did hardly any damage at all at that time. Aparently the emts screwed up their count it was announced that only 3 were killed in Gladesprings this morning and none are missing. I'm just glad it wasn't as many killed that I posted earlier. Sorry about your family losing everything. That sucks.

Thanks. I hope your grandmother pulls through this. We saw alot of lightning and pretty high winds and a little bit of hail but we're ok. I lived in Ocala, FL from 1992 to 1994. I survived Hurricane Andrew as well as quite a few major tornados. It was the deciding factor of me moving back here with my mom and trying to help her out. I never thought we'd being seeing tornados in this area, never.

That is an evil sight you hope you never see. The last one I seen up close was an EF5 out in Oklahoma. I just hope they get better at detecting tornados and developing a better warning system than what they have now. The moment they said on the tv if you live in glade take shelter immediately is when it hit. Glade didn't have any warning at all.
