West Highland Terriers and Dog owners question

Hey guys,

I am happy to say that me and my fiance are looking to be the happy owners of Westie (west highland terriers). We are patient, and good loving couple that want to cherish our time with a new member of the family but we are new to this experience, but we want to learn and do it right. I am currently research websites and talking to actual westie owners for everybit of information I can have. I have found the basics on how to care, love and groom a westie, but have yet to find the potential costs of ownership especially vet costs (i would hate to not be able to afford one after buying one). I don't want to pass of ignorant but we are really keen on owning this breed of dog and would display a lot of love and affection. We just want to learn so every bit of info or tips would help.

Also note that Emilie is allergic to dogs, therefore a Hypoallergenic dog is a must and Westies seem to affect Emilie less then other dogs.
