Looked on one site. They said it is not coming here. The reasson was the first 100K had already been spoken for by other countries.

The yearly production was only gonna be 100K and wouldn't support the North American market.

I remember when VW had a pickup back in the 80's - basically was a rabbit with a pickup bed after the front seats

Lol Boyracers, I love British speak some times, watching Top Gear to much this week lol. I wish they would bring a truck here, with a diesel and a manual transmission.

Yep. Most likley the only way to get a truck with a diesel is to either go this route, or get a fullsize. The other way is to do a diesel swap. You need to relax your obession with diesel engines and transmissions a bit my friend,L.O.L.

You're right about that. It seems that VW is more american made than the big 3 are. I didn't believe this until I picked up a "hot VW's and Dune Buggies" magazine. It amazed me of how cheap the parts vendors were, and about 90% of the vendors make their parts here in the U.S. Now what's wrong with this picture?

It's a sharp lookin' truck, but it's not coming to the USA last I heard. It's a shame to. But there is hope since Jeep is putting a Diesel in the Grand Cherokee around 2013. Maybe that will open the door to other Diesel powered vehicles.

I kindly like diesel engines a bit myself. The fuel burns alot slower and more efficiently, they can produce alot more torque than a gasoline engine can and that's what moves the vehicle. Now I can understand why others like diesel engines better. Plus they're alot easier to work on too. I say they'll see how it does overseas before they bring it over here to the states.
