So after wheeling the other day I pull the truck off the trailer to run to town in it. I make it about a mile down the road and I hear a pop and it just stops. So I get out and look this is what I found. I get it home by ratcheting the rearend back up to the bumper, pull the rear shaft and put it in 4low. Come to find out both blocks snapped, took the rear yoke off the pinion, and blew the ujoint. I was getting ready to do a rear 64 swap this weekend just wanted to see what it would do while I got the last of the parts in, but I guess its time to get it done sooner so it'll be ready next week.
Naw it was only one lift block, one on each side. Ive seen a lot come into the shop cracked or busted that another reason I have never trusted them I just left them on this one because I wasnt being very hard on it yet plus I was swapping this weekend. But what Im think is there may have been a hairline crack or something to cause them to fail I looked it over before getting it and didnt see anything wrong with it just glad it didnt happen 2 days ago when I was going down the interstate in it. I would never stack a blok hell if its over 2in I wont even install it, hell someone tried to get me to install front blocks on a old chevy said hell no and turned them away.
Yeah me to I had just turned at a light when it did it, the look you get when you drive a mile backwards in order to keep the rearend somewhat straight lol, of course I had the wife and a good friend in front and behind me.
