Default Vehicle Shortage Predicted...

Due to the tragic situation in Japan, vehicle manufacturers are concerned with shortages in their production lines. Toyota of USA announced today, that dealerships may be short on models they recently ordered and some dealerships may have to close due to this tragic situation. The big 3 are also being effected, since 90% of the electronics found in today's vehicles come from Japan. With Japan's economy destroyed, it's predicted that most if not all vehicles would become alot more pricey until Japan rebounds (if they can rebound). The death toll is now 13,180 and roughly about 13,780 (+/-) are still missing. With this natural disaster causing more and more problems each day, there's no telling what will happen with those unfortunate souls in Japan.

Hmmm. We used to make these parts here in the United States of America. For our american made vehicles. Great.

This is exactly what happens in a global economy! Too much dependence relying on others. This can affect owners of new vehicles and owners of older vehicles needing replacement parts. Imagine the food shortage if Armageddon were to occur in multiple places at one time. Ouch!

What a concept, huh?

I read on another forum that black is gonna be the hardest color to come by too. So it's an anti Henry Ford thing: you can have any color you want, as long as it's not black

Here's what burns me out bigger than shit. I can build a 1923 T-Bucket for less than $4,000 dollars right now and every component that I aquire is made here in the U.S. That's pretty bad when an antique hotrod can be made here COMPLETELY in the U.S. for way less than what you'd pay at any auto dealer here in the states. And Washington D.C. asks why we'd rather build our own vehicles from scratch than buy what's on the lot. DUH, Polichickens get a clue.
