Default Tech question but not about a ranger...

Alright guys.. i was sitting here talking to my wife about gassing up our gashoe... and i was just joking when i said that i should throw in a huge tank on it so i wouldnt have to make the trip to the gas station so often. I then thought to myself i should actually do that. So.. my next little project would be putting a bigger tank.. one that feeds my stock tank.. where my spare tire would be. ill relocate the tire later. So any clue as to how to feed a stock tank with an auxilary tank? Im looking at maybe picking up another stock tank or looking for a bigger one. The tank in there right now is a 30 gal. But i want to get the fuel capacity up to maybe 70 or so... any ideas guys?

Get a fuel cell, and an electric lift pump from Napa, they are about 100 bucks though, You might check out Titan tanks as well. Honestly, I wouldn't do it, you are just going to increase risk of fire if you are rear ended, and there are gas stations everywhere. What are you getting for mileage? It may need a tune up if it's really that bad.

yeah you would probably have to look into having a custom tank fabbed... sounds pricey. not to mention you are gonna decrease your mileage with all that extra weight, and also its gonna handle worse especially on loose or slippery conditions cause that weight will be behind the rear axle, so it will make the front end feel loose.

maybe. I just like the idea of not having to fill up all the time. The gas stations here in escalon are well over 4 dollars while its still 3.89 in manteca.. 20 mins up the road. My wife drives around quite a bit here in town so its a pain to have to drive to manteca to get cheaper gas. Hence the idea to get an auxilary tank. Now i dont know what it would do to the handling but i dont think it would make it feel loose on the front end. Remember they managed to get a 5.7L V8 monster in it. I guess it has its pros and cons but im still intrested in doing it.

just be careful, the new tank has to be a fully sealed system so you don't get a check engine light.

just get a gas tank/tool box for the bed of your rig. Those tanks hold a lot of gas, easy over $100 worth....
