Exactly, almost everything boils down to oil

I'm not a politician. I can't change it. Still waiting for you to explain why something called Article 5 means any of this is a good idea.

Im not saying its a good idea, I never did. Check my posts. Under article 5 if a NATO Ally is attacked, all members of NATO consider this act of violence against all members of NATO.

You can complain about it all day but it wont change.

But no NATO ally is being attacked. It's fighting with in their own country.

Ok. Lets go with that logic. We're doing the exact opposite. Rebel forces are attacking their own country. Yet we're bombing the shit out of the country's established military defenses. We aren't defending Libya. We're using our own armed forces to help civilians overthrow their government. That is not what we're here for and I don't think you'll find anywhere in article anything that says we're supposed to help hostile overthrows.

Now with that said, I hope they win. I hope that fuck takes and RPG up his ass and it explodes halfway to his head. But it IS their problem, not ours, not the UN's, and not NATO's.

Agreed, and lets not forget that these "rebels" are comprised mostly of Al-Quaeda and other terrorist cells that have traveled to the country to fight. Im all about doing the right thing and helping people. But america needs to open her eyes because we are slowly changing sides.

yeah its not like Gaddafi blew up Paris to stop the Libyan rebels. its about oil and kicking Gaddafi out, otherwise we would have no fly zones over 80-90% of Africa, and a bunch over Asian nations too, where genocide is just another normal day.

Got a question though if anyone knows, are we now pull out of libya, or are we just giving command to someone else and continuing the fight?

EXACTLY! Like I said before. It's politics regardless of what the public lie of the hour happens to be.

I don't want to get into a discussion about if we should be in Lybia or not. In my opinion we should be. Not to over throw the government but to protect the innocent people who are caught in the middle.

There are 2 factions, the rebels and the government forces. The government of Lybia has been bombing civilian and rebel target at will. I couldn't care less about the rebels, if you want rebellion in your country, you should be ready for it and not whine when the other side has bigger guns.

The civilians who have no way to protect themselves are who are getting hurt. That is why we are there with the UN and NATO.

Let me ask you this. If you were a military leader within either group, who's pilots would you want flying your missions? The ones from the US who have probably been to either Iraq or Afganistan, and have wartime experience? Or do you want some flyboy from a european country who has only seen action on training day?

You are going to go with the people you know will get the job done right, and sad to say they are our troops.

By the way Pooleo, NATO stands for North Atlantica Treaty Organization. The treaty means that they are working together, and not in the peace treaty form. It is a left over from the Cold War, when the Soviet Union was taking over many Eastern European countries.

Yes yes yes. We're doing it for the innocent people is the excuse all the time. I don't like seeing innocent people slaughtered either. But like someone already said... what about the other 10 countries in Africa that slaughter their own people every day. We don't march around there playing world police.

The peace love and harmony routine only works until people realize how disingenuous it is. If we do it there but nowhere else, that would lead one to believe that perhaps they are full of shit.
