i dont stand for the pledge of allegiance. i havent done it in probably 6 years. you can hate me all you want but i dont support americas actions throughout the world and there for choose not to pledge my allegiance to it. i dont sit there and wist and be rude or disrespectul during it and i do respect other peoples decision to do as they wish during the pledge and i do disagree with people that fuck around disrespectfully during it.

i disagree with those actions just as much as you do. i feel ignorant shits like them display a poor reflection of those who choose not to for reasons other then being an idiot.

one does have the right to choose whether or not they perform the pledge of allegiance. to refuse to let an individuals to express this right(or anyone opinion or belief) is in my opinion significantly more disrespectful to america and even the veterans who fight to keep that right then simply not standing.

i dont want to start any stupid arguments or anything so please dont get all dramatic on me.

I'm a very strong supporter of our troops (can and us), but the message in that picture is wrong.

I'm pretty anal when it comes to national anthems, i guess i was raised that way. Whenever i go to a hockey game i stand up and pay respect.

Awesome. Just saved it as my Facebook Profile picture. I will send it to my Dad too. He served 21 years in the Air Force, my paternal grandmother is a WW2 Coast Guard vet, and my maternal grandfather is a WW2 Navy vet. MANY vets in my family. I also wear a Memorial Bracelet for a young guy who died in Afghanistan this year. I love our vets/servicemen. I wish I could be there kicking some butt with them. GREAT PHOTO!

Seriously?

Any person who serves in the military is protecting your rights. Regardless if they even see war.

Maybe next time you see a person in Military uniform you should ask them. See what they say.

Maybe PM Patrick (01_4x4_Ranger) ask him what rights he fought for. Im sure he will let ya know.

I had a buddy come home from doing a tour over seas and he had one of his men step on a ied... I must say he has never been the same. Long story short we went to the local race track and some d-bags where effing around during the anthem.. Ever see and 6'4" 250 pound Marine go nuts on a group of people... I think they learned their lesson.. Great post God Bless the U.S.A baby!!

Ugh..I hate when people disrespect our servicemen. God bless your friend. What is it that Ronald Reagan said about Marines? "Some people go thru life wondering if they ever made a difference...luckily the Marines don't have that problem." God bless the USMC

I invite you to go and re-read what i posted.

BUT, to address your erroneous point.

I would never disrespect a soldier. Mainly because they may one day be called upon to risk their lives in order to defend mine, i greatly respect that.

I'm going to stop at that, because hardliners will be pissed off no matter what i say.

The Bills of Rights, isn't is a horrible piece of paper?

If someone does not want to stand for the pledge or national anthem, who cares. It is their right not to stand. You can get mad and be pissed about it, but our soldiers fought for that right too. Just beacuse people do not agree with what you think/say/do, gives you no right to get mad at them. They have rights and are using them.

I have always stood and removed my hat. It is just something I will always do, because it is what I belive. But I am not going to tell the person sitting next to me that he has to. It is his right to make that decision for himself.

I will have to agree on the side of Stephen. To me, the pledge should not be recited for our current state of the union. America today is 67 times different than the America of 1892, when the Pledge was written. The pledge honors a country that America is not. In truth, this nation is not joined together, as the speech recited by the principal demonstrates. The pledge states that we are "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty". There is no country that is more divided than America is. And a very small percentage of the country follows the word of God. And for liberty, how do we have liberty if we have very little power to govern ourselves? About the only "liberty" we have is the ability to do much of what we want, but speaking out against the government is considered wrong. Speaking our opinion, is wrong. If you don't like a certain race, that is your choice. But why is it still considered wrong? As for adding God to the pledge, the original colonists moved here for religious freedom. Religious freedom includes any belief of religion, whether it's God as the mighty creator, or whether it's an opinion that God does not exist. Atheism is a religion too, yet it isn't honored. Bottom line, the pledge was written for a country that stood exactly for what is stated within the pledge. Modern day America does not fit the description of the country stated, therefore the pledge is null and void in my opinion.

However, out of respect for those who have fought for my right to live in a relatively free country, I do still stand and recite the pledge, as well as the national anthem, with my hat held right over my heart.

As for those who disrespect those individuals who stand for the pledge, they do need to shut up, because those who stand for the pledge or national anthem have the right to recite it without disruption.

I would have told those punks:

"By pledging allegiance to our flag,we are honoring and remembering the men and women that gave their lives for this Country and your sorry butts!"

I couldn't agree more. But those rights we have also give them the right to be that way. It is horrible to think their parents raised them to be that way, and it makes me know how much harder I will have to work to teach my children how to act.

come on now, that's just arrogant and makes you look like a bigger prick than the guy sitting down during the anthem.

I don't always stand for it if I don't feel like it. I have recited 102503250 times, 1 more time isn't going to mean anything but when I do recite it, I leave out the under god part.
