Default Any 73-79 Truck Owners or Info

Ive been in the market for one of these for awhile, want to have something bigger that I can play with and keep wear n tear off the ranger. Any info or stuff I should look for, hows the price, etc. Ill probably be going to look at it this weekend. Thanks for the help.

One of the common things i've seen on em is cracks on the frame at the steering box. Seemed to be more prevalent among lifted 6th gens(73-79). And obviously, you need to check the quality of the workmanship on that lift. Check the angle of everything, from the steering linkage, to the driveshaft angles, etc. Try and get as much info as you can from the owner. In all reality, it's the same as buying any other vehicle, you need to make sure you find out as much as you can about the truck's history. The 6th gens are pretty stout trucks, and I never really hear much bad about them, other than the fact that sooo many of them get crappy lift jobs.

I've got one with a 466/c6.
What do you really want to know?

The thing is, what will you use it for mostly?

Bogging or towing?

If you bog more and tow some then get an automatic (C6).
If you tow more and bog little then get a manual (4 spd granny low)

That's me. Cause when you bog you want to have speed and not have to change gears and accidently burn up a clutch.
