Question Have gas prices affected driving your baby around?

I'm currently deployed to Iraq, 19 years young, and was just recently talking to my parents on the phone about random stuff thats been going on in the world (i,e the Tsunami, The wars, etc.) and the subject of gas prices came up, my dad recently returned from California from a business trip and said the gas prices out there were somwhere in the range of $3.50. i was like HOLY S***......i recently checked out the Daily Fuel Guage Report website and currently California is at $3.96 for Reg. thats insane!! is it just me?......so for my R&R i might be takin the city bus, haha! or maybe i'll spend more time on foot. i just wanted to see wat u guys thought about it...Does it affect your driving?

Not really. I can't NOT drive around here. Just to even get to a bus stop I have to drive 5 miles (I guess I could walk or ride my bike, but meh) and the bus' here are on a designated route and don't just drop you off a block away.

I paid $3.239 at the pumps on Thursday. Luckily it's warming up so I don't have to warm the truck up for so long, lol.

Gas is ~$4 near me. I now ride my bike to school 2 out of the of days 4 I go and always ride my bike to work or friends houses or anywhere within 3 miles of my house . I can not afford gas the way it is and when it warms up in tte morning I'll be biking almost exclusively.

I guess i shouldn't complain, i mean i got my 4 banger sittin at my Parents apartment back in New Mexico, the fact that is is a 4 banger helps alot with gas mileage. not sure of wat mine is. maybe somewhere in the 20's?

Yes.

I still drive to school because it's way too far to walk, but i've had to turn my gf down so many times for dates because I can't afford to spend any gas on anything but going to school and to the store. This shit sucks. It should be getting better for me soon, but soon isn't coming fast enough. I even started doing stuff at work i'd never think of doing before, just to make some extra money.

BTW, that stuff is getting on roofs cleaning gutters, I used to never set foot on roofs, but money can make your fear of falling disappear pretty quickly.

When we were in Hawaii 2 weeks ago the same week the Tsunami hit. Gas was 3.95
We landed in Los Angles on the way there and in LA it was 3.65ish

Currently here I just got gas in the wife's car and I paid 3.21 a gallon.

I hear ya man. My old Ranger was a 4 banger. I miss the gas mileage it got. My 3.0 is a parasitic hog, but I like the simplicity of it. If I can, I wanna get another no thrills 4 banger Ranger just for commuting.

Gas was 3.58 here the other day. I was talking to someone the other day who was paying over $4.

I spent several months commuting 80 miles a day, b4 prices jumped - $60 to $80 a week.
I got a transfer so now it is about 3 miles - what a relief!! I hope to stay on this job for a couple more months
I am saving money on gas but but not setting any aside yet - paying bills - ugh...
I still drive when I want, where I want and how I want. They haven't broken me yet!!

Does not affect me. Gas is one of those things we can all bitch about but no matter what we will still end up paying for it whether it be once a month or twice a week.

It hasn't affected me. I still need to drive to places. I just suck it up and pay the price.

I'm hoping to start biking to work this summer. Assuming I'm back in time for summer...
