I still need to go where I need to go.... We have one of the highest averages in the country so hopefully driving cross country next month won't hurt as bad

Gas prices haven't effected me. I drive tops, 10 miles a day.

Last time gas prices skyrocketed it definitely effected me though. My Bronco was my DD and my girl was 300 miles away. I'd see her a couple times a month, and it would cost me just about 240 dollars round trip just for gas.

I only drive about 10miles or so a day too. So it hasn't been TOO bad, I also just fill up with the lowest grade, I really don't see much of a difference (other than my bank account) when I use a higher grade..I don't think it is necessary. That would be rough to drive 5 hours to see the girl..lol...That must burn a lot of gas.

You have no reason to burn anything other that 87 in your truck, higher octane is only needed if you have high compression, turbos, or superchargers, or something else fancy I haven't run into.

If I didn't enjoy driving so much it probably would be rough going to see the girl. I only burn about 1 tank each way. I also really like Charleston, SC where she's stationed at. I am the Travelin' PNW Crewman, and Road Trippin' King. I will randomly go places just because I can. Seen a lot of country. Loved it.

Lol I freak people out, I used to go to class 8 hours, work 6 hours, then leave for the gfs in Spokane another 8 hours. Then sleep 2 hours, have a blast, leave sunday, get home sleep 3 hours and go back at it.

Now I do essentially the same. I am heading south Saturday night, I'll leave work around midnite, starting at noon, drive five hours, sleep a few then get up and have a good time, drive back early monday

But, the Ranger is INCREDIBLY reliable..and eats that mileage for dinner, I am sure. I will NEVER buy another non Ford truck ever again. I am forever a Ford man.

Lol first truck is a GMC, I really am not picky anymore, I was once a die hard GM man. Not so much anymore. This truck does eat miles, but she is also 14 years old. She is beginning to show her age a tad. Little things here and there. Nothing major about her.

Mine is nine years old...I bought her in 2005. She had about 50K on her when I bought her, she has 107k now. Same thing. No problems really ever. I love how 70 feels like 35. Smooth as silk. I just love Ford in general. The ONLY company to not accept auto bailout money, and because of QUALITY, they bailed themselves out. But I can see how a 14 year old truck would show her age...Its kind of like your childhood dog. As you have it for longer and longer, you grow attached, and then one day it passes, and you say "I will never have another dog again."...And then you get one..haha.
