Default Re: Tornado survival stories

I did wish for a tornado to land once at our farm when I was 7 or so.

I was like Please let one come out of the sky....

And all of a sudden a funnel was coming down...then my brother and dad told me to not wish that and I said ok and it went back up.

Went down the road the next day and our barn fell down. LOL

I know this isn't about hurricanes but we get hurricane weather here but we did go to Mississippi after Katrina to help the people there and that place looked like a nuke hit it. You can see water marks on the houses (miles and miles off shore), casino coins laying around, and the beach was literally gone (what little beach Mississippi has)....they had some tractors out there building the beach back.

Tree that still today has metal stuck in it.

The metal building was the new church. The old white building which had been around since 1900's? was way to small for the church. The wife and I were the last ones to be married in it.

What is left of the fellowship hall of the old white building

Funny story about the white building. Since it had been around for a very long time and we had out grown it. The Pastor had been trying to figure out how to tear it down without upsetting the older people of the community. Well he didn't have to worry about it after the tornado came through. The main section looked as if it was okay. But structurally was not safe anymore and would cost to much to repair.
