Talking Veterans - Air Force or others

I just wanted to find out if there were any veterans of the US Air Force or other branches of service that are Ranger enthusiasts or current active duty, reserves or national guard?

i did just over 6 years in the Army Reserves (got caught by stop loss right at the end) im currently in IRR until July when my 8th year is completed. I completed a year and a half deployment in support of OIF III in 04-05, a year of that with boots on ground. i got out as an E-5 SGT and my MOS was 88M and the unit i was assigned to was a line-haul unit (i drove semi's) I miss it but at the same time i dont but i wouldnt trade my experiences for anything in the world, i made some great friends, lost some too but i learned alot about myself and gained a greater appreciation for the country i live in.

note the "shocker" they are throwing up, where do you think they learned that? lol

----------

id also like to add, to those that have served, are serving or are planning to serve thanks for your service!

24 years in the Air National Guard. I still have at least 17 more to go since my civilian job is tied to my military position.

Haha you got the days to the T. Weapons Specialist sounds like it would be legit. Could you do it and be color blind?

I played with everything from hadguns up to Nukes. Being color blind would not be a good thing. When playing with larger weapon systems you will be working with color codes.

Call it a calling. Try it out if you have a mind to but don't feel like you have to. It's something you have to want to do, there isn't a lot of recognition or glory in it.

I've been all over the world and the Middle East several times. That and a $1.85 will get you a cup of coffee. There is self satisfaction in it though.

Lol I have thought about it since I was in 3rd grade. There is a lot of history there. Also I tried to join, broke my toe the day before MEPS, got disqualified, recruiter turned into a dick, I told him to take a flying leap, and I've never been back. I went to school, got my bachelor's and I am doing the same thing I would have done in the military - diesel tech - and I make twice as much money. I didn't lose out to bad there. Still not ruling it out though.

What MOS?

I'm no veteran, but I'm planning to enlist in the Marines after I graduate next year.

Currently serving in the Navy. 2 years in... 2 years to go. Gonna try to go into law enforcement after tho. Assuming my knee heals correctly (just had ACL reconstruction) and I can pass all physical tests
