FAIL ALERT! FAIL ALERT! Skiing into a pond, result as expected

So it was closing day at Liberty which means POND SKIMMING! Buoyant, I am not. But what the hell, this will be fun! Out of the 76 people that tried, only 4 made it all the way across. Camera on my head is a GoPro. Camera on "shore" is my friend's iPhone.

What kind of skis did you try it on? Look up the cushing crossing, squaw goes nuts every year with people doing it. My buddy and I did it. I made it on my pow skis.

POS rental skis. I didn't want to get my own boots wet so I grabbed some rental equipment. My friend is ski patrol there so it was free. Powder skis and more speed would have been very helpful.

It was about 40 degrees plus a 10mph wind. The water was from the snowmaking reservoir, which is all snowmelt. So really f'ing cold.

Lol yeah its not too hard to make it across, the hardest part is the initial drop in into the water, once you get past that drop from snow to water its easy.

Out of 76 people that tried, only 4 succeeded. The dude after me made it across, still going full speed ahead right into the snow fence and almost ripped it right out of the ground. I think he put rocket motors on his skis.
