Theres a truck that I've seen around with a big hook mounted on the back hitch somehow, and I'd like to mount one on the back of my truck the same way this guy did it on his truck. I'm trying to figure out if the piece the hook is actually mounted to is something I could buy or if its custom made. It appears to just go into the 2" hitch receiver with some sort of forked drop that he bolted the hook in between. If anyone knows what this piece is called or where I could buy one it would be greatly appreciated!

It's just a hitch mounted tow hook.

TSC sells something similar. Tho it has a ring on it, but im sure you could put a hook on it.

I actually have a hook like that, found it at the scrap yard, it was a hook that was attached to some type of crane cable. Thought about doing something similar.

Ok I will have to try TSC. I have looked all over at every site i could think of that would sell towing stuff. All of the hitch mounted tow hooks I saw were nothing like this, they all just looked like this

Thanks for those links but I'm not looking for the actual hook, I'm trying to find the piece that the hook is mounted to that goes into the 2" receiver.

Yeah, thats basically what i have now. I took an old hitch and put a shackle through the hole, and then attached another shackle to the first one to get the positioning of the hook right so it was facing front to back on the truck instead of left to right. It will definitely do its job but I was just trying to find that other part to clean up the look a bit and keep it neater.
