Re: ford escape good or bad
My wife currently is driving one the escape has been great for us, we use it to haul all of our camping gear and canoe and puppy, when it came time from college for us to replace her escort we picked out the escape because of its high crash test safety as well as having the room we needed for a future family. to be truthfully honest if i did not have my ranger i would probably rock an escape myself. i know her next car will be another one.

Re: ford escape good or bad
My girlfriends mom has one and loves it. Ive driven it to new jersey and a few other places. Handles nice. good MPG's, 4wd. Not to big, not to small. Had alot of blind spots for me tho. Thats all I didnt like, but I am used to driving a ranger so im used to being able to see 360 degress around me.

Re: ford escape good or bad
I've driven a few of them from both generations before, they ride realllly nice, and feel super solid. I think they're pretty sweet, but I don't have any real experience with them

Re: ford escape good or bad
My mom's lease just ended on our explorer and we ended up getting an escape due to money being tight. At first we thought it would be way to small due to the big size difference between it and the explorer. We quickly realized most of the time she's just driving it to work and to the grocery store so we don't need the large cargo space anyway. She loves it, its a well built car and it gets good gas mileage as well.

Re: ford escape good or bad
I think the AWD one is too underpowered for what it is. Interiors are comfy on them though and as others said, quite a nice ride.

Re: ford escape good or bad
I've read some good reviews on them and I have ridden in one as a passenger for a road trip. Not bad but I thought the interior was a little on the cheap side. If she can look past that, it's all good.

Re: ford escape good or bad
thank you everyone for your input it is greatly appreciated.she wants to get one with a 5spd and 4x4 soon.we are starting to rack up the miles on my truck by only having one vehicle and she does not like having my daughter ride in the front of the truck and she rides in the jump seat.thank you again for all your input.

Re: ford escape good or bad
I have one in my album, a loaner from while i waited for my ranger to arrive in canada.
If the dealership had offered me a huge deal on it like i had on the ranger, i might have got it instead.
Very spacious inside, i had the hybrid and thought it was enough power for the size, i got ~36mpg from it with the a/c on.

Re: ford escape good or bad
two of my sisters own them..both say they are very pleased..One is a 2.5 5 speed, the other is the 3.0 liter auto..The 3.0 uses a lot of gas, but it will get you there..the 2.5 manual is a pearl, if you aren't a hot rodder.

if i did not need the truck to haul deer, beer and building materials, i would easly be rocking an escape.
