Default Inherriting a storage shed...painting questions

Need some advice.

Dad is building a wood shed and is giving me his old metal shed.

It's one of those prefab type sheds from Lowes. It is in good physical shape minus a few spots of rust on the roofline and the door needs some adjusting.

I want to paint it to freshen it up. It is currently light gray with a brownish roof. I want to go darker gray with maybe a black roof.

Question is, can I paint this metal with spray paint? and if so, what kind?

Is there an attachment for a spray paint can that will make it easier on my fingers since I'm painting a large area?

Thanks.

I was just going to post up about the can gun!

It is great for painting with a spray can. Your hand doesn't get sore and you can get better coverage.

But for a shed you are going to need a lot of spray cans. Why not get some tractor/implement paint from Tractor Supply. Use a roller and put on a couple coats of paint.

Use a wire brush and/or a grinder and clean the rust off. Might also want to use some sand paper and rough up the paint on the shed before you paint.
