Kodak Easyshare Z700 - batteries are fully charged, but the camera switches on and then turns off - the screen for setting the Date and Time briefly shows. Camera doesn't show when connected to the PC via USB cable. I have the same problem, my camera turns on, i get the kodak welcome screen, then the screen turns off, a red light blinks and then it turns off. I tried bending the battery contacts but it didn't work.I am using brand new kodak digital camera 2500 mah batteries. they are rechargable, i dont know if i have to get a charger for them and charge them first then put them into the camera, but i dont think that would make a difference.

The camera brand new?

If you just go the batteries and camera the batteries will probably need charged first

No its used i bought it off of a friend who needed cash for her baby on the way. When i leave it on the dock the green light flashes for like a minute or soo and i will take it off and it will have enough power to turn it on for like 5 seconds, the lense will come out too, then go back and shut off.

Try putting a set of alkalines in it, it's odd that it won't dock power, is is a AC dock or usb?
Typically USB docks have to have software installed so that the USB will appropriate nough power to run the device.
Anything beyond this and the electronics are faulted. (camera is broke)

ya i would just try some different batteries. sounds like the ones you got are pretty much spent.

It's an ac dock. Do you mean try other rechargable batterys? cause brand new regular aa batterys wont work eaither. i wonder why the usb and my computer wont reconize the camera. Its gotta be broken. Ohh and the batterys are brand new.
