Default work out routines.

I'm starting to try and get back in to shape and lose some weight and get healthier. I am wondering what you guys do to stay it shape. So far I have been trying to eat healthier and have been doin sit ups and push ups. Goin to go for a walk tomorrow as well. I am starting to look at local gyms now. I am currently at 200 pounds and would like to be at 170 by summer. One I lose some fat I will start trying to tone as well.

Anyone have any dietary or work out suggestions?

Eat healthier, Dont eat late. Biggest is lift weights or resistance train, you can do it just have to be really dedicated and disciplined, trust me i went from 256 to 170 within about 5 months.. Start small then keep increasing ur weights, alternate every 2 weeks between high reps and low weight and low reps and high weights, this allows your body to continually work harder to burn n build

Good Luck Stay at it..

I fight MMA and I have to maintain weight (either up or down depending on the fight) along with muscle mass, but absolutely hate counting calories, having to stick to a "diet", or jogging so what works best for me is to stay away from foods like pasta, breads, potatoes, sugar, salt, etc, limit the amount of red meat and substitute with more chicken and fish. Don't eat anything after 9pm. Cut the amount of what you eat at each meal in half, but then eat more meals a day. In other words, several (4-5) small meals a day as opposed to larger 3 meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) routine. If you absolutely need a snack between meals go with flavored rice cakes (no they are NOT all that bad) or something like celery, carrot sticks, fruit, etc. If you have to "eat out" for whatever reason eat the meat, toss the bread, order milk or ice tea instead of soda, and onion rings (if you must) instead of french fries. Or go with a salad! Avoid fried foods whenever possible.

As for working out. Stay on a strict routine with your work outs. Don't say your going to do it and then break down and skip a day or two thinking "you'll make it up later". If your the type to HAVE to miss workouts for whatever reason then make sure you never miss doing "something" every single day like 100 sit ups (or whatever amount guys do) and push ups right when you wake up and then again right before going to bed...just do them everyday! (I actually don't count my situps and pushups, but time myself instead. As many as I can do without stopping in 10 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night. I just set a timer).

Circuit training and cardio are a must, along with the lifting. Set yourself up "stations", set a timer, work on one station, and then move to the next, and so on and so forth until you've done 8 rounds (or however many times you want to go from one station to the next). My stations are as follows: Heavy bag, body bag (may not be for everyone as it's mostly for learning to grapple), upper cut bag, curl bar, incline bench for sit ups, push up bar for push ups, leg press, stair stepper, jump rope, 9" diameter 12lb medicine ball (upper body and shoulder work), 11" diameter 25lb medicine ball (squats for leg work), floor mat for some "core" working, and then a 400lb tractor tire used for flipping (I do 5 flips, then do a wind sprint back 50 yards, turn around, sprint back, and flip 5 more times), but men could probably do more so it's up to you). Of course, after that I do the fight training with a sparring partner, but not sure that really matters as far as "working out" more so than my learning. (Although it IS a good workout!) For each station (except the tractor tire) the timer is set to do 5 minutes at each station until rotating to the next. This is fast and without stopping. Move from one to the other as soon as the timer goes off.) If you want a list of what I do, exactly, at each station just let me know, otherwise make up your own exercises.

I do this routine every day, but even if you did 3 times a week you'd start seeing results pretty quick. Obviously start slow and know your limits when first beginning, but believe me not only will you begin to see a decrease in weight and an increase in muscle mass, you'll have more energy overall on a daily basis and you'll sleep better too!

Oh and, although most guys would disagree with this, I do NOT use any protein drinks or powders, nor do I mess around with "enhancement suppliments" with my workouts. Some say it's good, but I say just do the work and skip the "crap" and I maintain body weight and muscle mass just fine.

Hope this helps.

I walk all day 5 days a week. 5-8 hours a day. At work lol. During summer. I'll probably lose 40-60 pounds. Like my co workers did last summer.

LOL Well to be honest the first time someone hears I play softball and fight MMA they tend to think "manly girl" (trying to be politically correct here without saying Lesb...). Around my state playing softball apparently makes you... well you know. Not sure why exactly because half the reason I play softball is to get a chance to see the guys tight butts and taking their shirts off to tan in between games at summer tournaments!

What works for me is I get up, get ready for school, then drive 20 minutes to school. Get out at 12, have my sub, then off to work, which is usually manual labor. Then, I come home, and eat anything from cotton candy, to chips. Whilst i'm eating, I get here on the computer and do my homework, then get on FRF. Then, later at night, shower time, then bed time. And then I do it all again the next day.

Results not typical.

I have a high metabolism, so as soon as I eat something, I burn it. And with working with livestock and cutting lawns, it just gets burned tenfold. I don't gain anything, and I don't lose anything. Eventually i'll have to change my ways, but this works for me.

Again, results not typical.

There's nothing wrong with playing soft ball whatever sex you are, heck my fiance plays hockey and last i checked she was just as into guys as you are lol. no judgement here. And Why would the fact that you like "intimacy" make you a manly girl? I thought guys would like the fact that you are into it not insult you for it.
