I'm not really wanting to build up yet, as I want yo reach my goal weight, then I will start trying to tone and such.

Kindy: That's way to much work for me at the moment, as I don't have the time between school and work. I just want to do the basics till I get in better shape, lol.

I here ya! Sorry. Well, regardless of the workout routine...the eating ideas are still good. You may find results with just normal everyday walking, working, etc. if you just follow the eating rules.

Good luck...you'll make it!

I can tell you form personal experience that if you want to build muscle, do it while you are big. It is easier to trun fat to muscle than loose the fat and try to add muscle. Look into the BFS program. That is an excellent program for weight loss and to put on muscle.

----------

another thing that seems to help is to set a weekly goal. Maybe like 2-4 lbs a week. Instead of looking at it like, I need/want to lose 15 lbs this month

I run tabata every other day. Drink a protein shake before and thats it.
I am a blue belt in BJJ and a white in Japanese JJ. Also I box and do Muay Thai. I love Tabata. I have crazy lungs for being a smoker.

Awesome! You should do MMA! Anyway, believe it or not with all I do I am a smoker too. I can outrun people who never smoked a day in their life. Crazy. Not advocating smoking, just saying I have those crazy lungs too!

EVEN BETTER! About the closest I can come to a mountain top for Kata is the sand hill near our park. LOL (No, I don't go there...just sayin').

Why? There is absolutely no benefit to putting off weight lifting, it will help your weight loss goals tremendously.

That's an old myth. Fat can not be converted into muscle.

Fat cant be truned into muscle, fat is burned as fuel after all carbohydrates are burned.
