Default With every mod comes added problems

Today I decided to start the process to add HID's to my car. At the same time I decided to separate my lens covers and paint my bezels black. Easy enough right? Wrong!

The first step in this process is to remove the front bumper, this should be a 20 minute job. Add NYS winters which my car has endured every year until this one, and it makes the job much harder. I managed to snap 3 bolts that hold the bumper on because they were rusted in place. On top of that, I had to drill out a screw that also holds them on. Now I have to deal with removing whats left of said bolts, and replace the parts. Here is what the car looks like with no bumper.

Next, I removed the headlights which was simple. No issues.

After this I had some shit to do, so I took a break from this project for a couple of hours. I started back up around 6PM. I used my heat gun, and separated the covers from the rest of the headlights. Simple enough. I then cleaned up all of the old silicone. Prepped the parts for paint, grabbed the paint and popped the cap off. What do I find? No Effing nozzle on the paint can. WTF!?!?!? Screw you Duplicolor!!!!

At this point I knew that it was useless to continue tonight. Something so simple is turning out to be quite a project. Oh well, I will go back to the store, and try and continue tomorrow if I have the time. At least I have 2 months or so before my car comes out of hibernation.

Once shit like that happens the whole day is fucked and you might as well not do anything, try tomorrow. It will be better.

No offense intended, but thats what a lot of ricer's cars look like up here in Michigan. Missing front bumpers and grilles, or rear bumpers/valances.

Hope you are able to get it back together soon though. Seems like any project I try to tackle that should be 'easy' turns into something that is fraught with problems.

I know it will be. I am not looking forward to dealing with those snapped bolts. I think they might just be floating clip nuts which would make the job a ton easier. I can just use my cut off wheel, get rid of them and replace them. If not, I will have to use an easy out. I am not sure though because I didn't have the car jacked up. It's really low and I couldn't even get my fat head under there to look.

You *******! J/K. No way would I ever drive it like that, lol. It will sit until all projects are completed. I have new struts in the mail. The stock ones did not like the 2" drop.

I wish you the best luck in your endevor. I'm hoping to put 'new' rims on my Ranger and maybe crank the torsion bars this year, but we'll see. I have a slew of things I want to do to my Chevy Caprice though, and that might outweigh the truck this year.

Did you see the American Top Gear episode where they filled the Crapice with water? Yes, I know I misspelled that.

Nope. Built a 355 with good money spent on good parts. It dyno'd about 430 HP, which is enough to have some fun. It has some AFR alumnim heads, Speed Pro pistons, Edelbrock intake, Holly Carb, Comp Cam, Harland Sharp Roller Rockers, Coan converter, True-trac locker, and other things. Its not stupid fast, but its fast for what it is. I know a guy who put a 305 in the 11's though, just to be different, not b/c he was dumb, but just to be different.

That sounds bad ass. Got any pics of it?

Back on topic, I just finished painting my bezels. I'll let them dry for a couple hours and reinstall. Then the HID's go in.

Before

After

I used Duplicolor flat black.
