Default new stuff for the Deere!

Today I picked up a few things for my tractor. After having issues with my battery and having to steal the one from my bike I decided to buy a new one. I bought a Gel Cell battery it cost $80. But after having to buy a new battery every year at $30, it just makes sense to buy this.

I also bought a new bumper for the front of the tractor. Cos was $70 and should look and function awesome.

Last I bought some Briggs & Stratton platinum/Gold plugs. They were $9.98 but had been miss marked so I got them for $4.44

I am installing the bumper tomaro and will post up some pics!

Front I-bean broke in half, transaxle died, muffler fell off, front wheel bushings failed, tearing up the rims and spindles, somehow the front wheels were pigeon-toed and I had to reset the toe. It's cost more than it's worth.

Wow! Well I plan on changing out the rear end fluid in the spring. I have read a few post about the pumps failing.

I also had the pigeon toed problem, the tie-rods are non adjustable, I cut one and welded in a new ball joint end with threads, so I got that problem solved.

But overall compared to the "MTD" brands that constantly fell apart and had problems with, I am pleased with the deere.

----------

I do plan on replacing the bushings with bearings for the front wheels, never liked that idea!

How you change the fluid? Transaxle looked sealed to me.

The left one is adjustable on ours, should be on yours.

My old Craftsman has had less problems and is more reliable then moms Deere. I wanna get my 110 running again though...

Good idea.

There is a fill hole in the top, just take it off and flip it upside down and let drain out. then fill with synthetic 5w50

You probably got a Lowes or Home Depot mower. Not trying to be an ass, but it's not really a Deere. It has a briggs motor and a few other parts Deere doesn't put in their mowers. All Deere did was sell the rights to their logo. That same mower at a Deere dealer would have had a kawasaki motor. They run much better and last longer.

Mine was from Home depot, I wont lie. But it is still built pretty damn good. I saw a husky mower at TSC tonight for $799. It was like 12hp. This thing was a train wreck. 8" tires up front, the rears were the same size as the fronts on mine! thing just looked very cheap. Frame was bolted together in 3 spots. The mower deck looked like it was made from tin foil.

Now this is a cheap mower! it dont even have head lights! http://www.tractorsupply.com/outdoor...ractor-1012351

DO NOT BUY A TSC MOWER! THEY ARE SHIT. I work there so I know. The best thing to do is go to a Deere or Cub dealer.

Yeah TSC has their pros and cons. Our pet food selection is great, but mowers and some power equipment not so much.

That's why our dealers have B&S in em? And it was bought from the Deere dealer? The Briggs isn't the problem.

Fields are green, tractors are red.
