That's a lack of common sense, buddy. Not the DRL's fault.
If you need to see lights to make sure a vehicle is coming up, it just re-inforces my point.

And your point in a roundabout way is that people lack common sense. Once again, it is the PERSON, not the technology.

I think the dumbness of people has really "dumbed down America". I think it's pretty cool what their doing with cars, phones, etc. Shows how much we are advancing technologically. If only we can advance at this rate in an economic scale, or even political!

----------

You know what's really dumbing down America? Spell Check. Kids don't have to learn how to spell at school anymore, they can just spell check everything. Same with when they text. And all the teachers and parents encourage it!

Yes and no. Its the gov that does not trust (or is too weak to tell the lobbies to stfu) us to make that conscious decision.

DRLs bring nothing to the table as far as safety or improvement. Might as well force everyone to install those orange roof lights also while we're at it.

Pretty soon, we won't have to argue over this topic, cars will be automated, and i will dread having to go anywhere.

Isn't that already a requirement for anything larger then a one ton pickup?

the local morning radio show hit on a topic related to the "dumbing down" of america and they referenced an article that was pretty interesting.

Unhappy Re: List of things on vehicles that contribute to the "dumbing down of america"

I have a customer who's wife I passed the other day as she was turnin into their driveway & I noticed her RF headlamp was out. I see my customer the next day & I said, hey...that Dodge Caliber your wifes drivin has a RF headlight out......he laughed..........he said that was built into the car, when you turn your signal on, it turns that sides light off????????

And howbout Ford's NEW 6.7L Diesel that requires that special fluid to clean the exhaust........it has a seperate dependin on the size of the truck, some are 5 gal & some are 20 gal (@$3 gal) and the computer reads it, and when you get within so many miles of it bein empty, it pops up a warning that the vehicle will be shut down. Had an over-the-counter customer the other day travelin from Mich. to Fla and his truck was gonna shut down in 5 miles when he found us, as we are 2 miles off I-75. HOW'S THAT GRAB YA????

How about touch screen sound systems lol, can't turn a know, now you have to press menu, navigate through different options and 5 mins later you have finally changed the volume of your stereo, next they will be building cuisinarts in horse drawn wagons for godsakes
