Alright well I'm inthe military and I'm stationed in Northern Florida. Currently I'm cooped up in the barracks but I've been tossing an idea around for sometime now. I wanna buy a 16 foot camper or so and just live in it. I know i know its not huge but my girl is up north so its just me and i dont need much. Here's the snag though, all these RV places want $400 a month for a lot. I really dont want to pay $400 a month, at that rate I might as well just get an apartment. Anyway anyone have any great ideas on how to supply myself with electric and water? Remember keep it cheap haha

My family owns a 31 foot Toy hauler. It isnt cheap to live in one man, rent an apartment.

Sounds like a nice idea.

Good way for electrical is to do Solar. They make complete kits with the panels and hook ups for batteries. You would still need the batteries and inverters to.

Water could be done with portable water jugs. They make them in 3 or 4 gallons.

Most campers come with water tanks for good water and used water. Camp grounds have places to fill and empty the tanks.

growing up, my mom & dad had a 16 foot family camer that 4 of us would camp in
all summer long, although there were electric lights, my dad also installed battery operated lights and had the water pump, fridge, stove, toilet converted to run on either battery or electric power, because many remote camping sites do not have electrical hook ups
If a family of four car survive about 14 summers in a 16 foot camper, you'll do just fine.
also, ask around, see if you can get a special monthly rate due to your being in the military.

Apartment is definitely cheaper than that's going to be. WAY less of a pain in the ass, more secure, and way too many other things not worth typing.

NAS Jax has a cheap RV park with a 3 week stay window, also check rural areas with mobile homes, many lots with sewer & water start at $150.00 per month plus electricity.

Get an apartment. between propane, water, electricity and lot rent you will spend more to live in your camper. Not to mention 16 footer is not a lot of space to live in, fine for camping but not living. I have a 30 footer and even a long weekend with my wife and dog gets cramped sometimes. If I were you id stick it out in the barracks and save your money.

itll be more expensive, with out a doubt. but consider this. buying the trailer will be an investment but renting the apt will be like tossing money away.

honestly, I vote you go for it. sure you can "rent" an apartment but when your ready to move, do you own it? would you possibly earn any income from renting an apt? no you will not. with a travel trailer/camper you have options. the hardest part sounds like finding a cheap lot, everything else can be acquired for cheap if you are constantly looking. besides your apt cant drive to your girl up north and have a lil overnight camping adventure could it? being in the military you will for sure find a suitable discount to accommodate your needs.
