im on the same boat man. first i wanted to be a mechanical engineer, makin well over 120k a year, and i wanted to do it to design new ways to power transportation vehicles, or make the current ones better to help out the environment . but then i figured that im not the kind of guy to sit at a desk 16hrs a day drawing and doing calculations.
So i kept thinking what could i do that would help people, and something i would enjoy going to work everyday. So i decided to be a firefighter, and since id only work everyother day or two, im also taking college classes for welding and automotive along with EMT and fire fighting, i love the idea of both ideas, and i enjoy working with both. i guess in the end i just listened to my heart and put the concern of money out of my mind when i came to the decision. hope that helps.
Either way enjoy college! im 19 also, and i've figured out a couple of things. 1- the classes are wayyyyy better then high school, 2- the parties are nonstop and fun as hell! and 3-the women in college are absolutely definitely fantastically drop dead hot! (well most that is
) so enjoy it, cuz we arent gonna be in our teens and 20's forever!
