Default possible new truck?!

okay so heres the deal... i bought my ranger brand new this past august for 16000 dollars... i had bought it because it was an economical truck and the pricetag was fair... im applying for a new much higher paying job with brinks security which is a money delivery service in canada for the banks... ill be making upwards of double the money i am now. ive been looking at buying a either used f150 or a brand new f150 still unsure depends what kind of deal ford will give me... i hope that if i get my f150 in the next few months that id still be able to stick around this forum as ive grown to make a few friends and everyone on here are very helpful and are willing to go out of their way to do things for others. my plans for when i get my f150 are to lift it and throw some fatty all terrains on it and maybe some hids. but thats just ideas seeing as i dont even have the truck yet haha

well a bare bones used 4x4 would be around 30k+ but if your ok with 2wd you could prolly snag one in the mid to low 20's.

id say they give you 12-14 for your ranger.

Yea FordDude is right as I priced the F150's last year before buying the Ranger . I found a fully loaded Ranger , XLT ALL Power 4 wheel drive , was the same price as an F150 4 Wheel , but no power group or XLT package . All basic stuff . No power windows etc .
Money did go between 20 and 30 K .
Mine came in around 23K

So, the only reason you're ditching the ranger for a much larger truck, is because you're getting a better job, and not because your needs changed?

Waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere, in my humble opinion.

Check out insurance costs also, especially if you're going from 2WD to 4WD. In BC, any 4WD vehicle has insanely high insurance costs - apparently they think we're higher risk drivers or something?? I was pricing out insurance when I was first looking at getting a new truck, and for a new F150 V8, I was looking at over $100 more a month insurance costs. Bigger motor doesn't help either.
And definitely wait until after your probation period at the new job is up.... probably don't need to say that but we've had a few new hires at work start spending their money before their 90 days and let's just say it wasn't a good idea.

Ya I looked into insurance and for me to own this truck it is actually only 25 dollars more a month which really suprised me so I'm alright with that... And ya I deffinately plan to wait although if I don't end up keeping or getting the job I still have my old job to fall back onto as its my families business
