Default Should Sept. 11th be made into a national holiday?

Should Sept. 11th be made into a national holiday?

I vote no

Making this a holiday would result in people forgetting the real reason we celebrate it. It would just be another day off from work to sit and watch tv

It would turn into all other holidays meant to honor those who have fallen and sacrificed. The only way I would approve of it is if every single place was shut down I mean nothing open that day except police fire and hospital

I agree with STL.
I don't even like to hear it referred to as "anniversary".

STL is right. Its a day of rememberance of all those fallen, made victim, and all the heroes that day. "9/11 Rememberance Day" is what I think of or "9/11 Memorial Day"

The only possible celebration that can come from that day is the celebration of a life and the heroes that saved so many. Kinda like a funeral... I dont want people to be crying constantly at my funeral, I want to see people getting back together and celebrating my life.

i think we should all stay the way we were on 9-12. Swearing to always be vigalant and aware of our surroundings. Unfotunatly many people have forgoten the fear and rage all of America had. Nothing will be in vain.

This country was so patriotic for one whole week. After than it seemed to never happen and people went on with life sad but true

I still remember it every time I see a air plane coming in for a landing here in Springfield
Everytime I see a fire truck or ambulance racing to a scene I think of 9/11

I live next to the largest naval air base in the world in VA Beach and my dad was on lockdown in his building on base when it happened. I remember when my mom picked me up from middle school after the 2nd tower was hit how the base scrambled 1/2 of all 300 F/A-18 and F-14. The sky was covered with them and some were headed to DC with missles and all. Pretty intense in the largest military area in the world here in Hampton Roads.

no, for the reasons STL initially listed but it should be a yearly memorial but no holiday

It takes a tragedy to bring people together. And as you pointed out, it's only temporary.

I just watched that video.
I don't know much about this guy, but based on this video alone, he seems to be pretty good at incoherent rambling.
