Default Insurance

I've seen many posts about people having accidents or fender benders and it seems nobody has insurance.(full coverage) They talk about "suing" other people, or not knowing what to do because their trucks been in an accident and is "totaled", or asking "how can i fix this?" Doesn't anyone have full coverage insurance?
I know you HAVE TO have it on any vehicle thats on a lien. (Loan)
so, when I see a thread about a newer vehicle being in an accident and the owner is saying "what will I do???" I think: why doesn't he/she just get it fixed? it's insured. (or should be)

My Ranger is on full coverage, due to the lean. I'll probably keep it on full coverage after.

My old '00 wasn't, since I know that the insurance company would have tried to put less than quality parts on it, and that's not acceptable on my trucks.

In CA, ALL cars registered have to be insured. It's a ~$1000 ticket for driving without it.

Ask me how I know, haha

Missouri it is a fine and they impound the vehicle till you provide insurance. So then you gotta pay for every day it is in impound.

I"ve got full coverage. It's not a whole bunch more per year to have it over whatever basic insurance is.
I figure since i've only been driving for 5years or so, i'm more likely to wreak it by myself than have someone else do it, and full coverage covers me gewd over the basic stuff.

When I first got my ranger, it was $2,300/Year. I turned 21 and it went down to $1,900/Year and when i switched to State Farm, it went down to $1,500/Year and is steadily declining.

And when I lived in Oklahoma, the police actually set up Insurance check points. In PA we only ever have DUI check points, I thought the insurance check points were kinda odd. Shoulda seen the looks I got from the police when I had a PA drivers license and a OK license plate

I havent seen any post where someone said that. I am a strong believer in having full coverage no matter what. I even pay a little extra to have smaller deductibles, and with my track record of hitting deer, my comprehensive has a 0 deductible and my insurance co pays me fir however long I am without my car while being repaired.

I had kinda the same deal, except I was paying $2500 every 6 months. And I wasn't getting any sort of extra benefit out of it.

Now I'm with State Farm and pay $1200 every six months WITH a $150K life insurance policy, and full coverage on the Chevy and liability on the Ranger (cheaper to insure it even though I don't drive it, lol). I think it's still quite a bit, but oh well.
