5-6 cans is an insane amount. You must have been dehydrated as hell, because those drinks will suck most of the water out of your body.

I used to never drink energy drinks. I hated the taste of them. Then about a year ago I started drinking them at work and now really enjoy the taste. I never really drink them for the energy boost. Its mostly for the taste. I don't think they give that great of a boost anyway. Maybe for an hour or two, but then you just get really tired.

I limit myself to maybe 1 a day. And its usually only 2-3 times a week. However, i'm really going to try to stop drinking them. They are pretty bad for you.

Here are a few good ones that have little to no sugar in them:

These are the best. I personally like the taste of them better then the green and blue monsters.

I also like these:

Not as good as the monster absolute zero's, but still pretty good.

And as everyone else was saying, a good nights rest, and a balanced diet help energy. I know its hard though. I've been real lazy the past few months with diet.

Exercise helps too. Overall you will feel much better if you exercise on a regular basis.

People made it for centuries without "monster" or "red bull" and did just fine, there's no sense in packing your body full of bullshit just to make it an extra few hours in the workday bc you couldnt put down call of duty or some shit the night before.

If your family has a history of diabetes, PUT THE SHIT DOWN NOW before you make it any worse on yourself. You need to take care of your body now, so it wont affect you so bad further down the road.

A bunch of people have been mind controlled into believing they need energy drinks which are 99% caffeine, sugar, and water. Amazing how advertising agencies can manipulate people's thinking. A fool and his money are soon parted.

How much caffeine does the monster and xenergy give out? The two above mentionned give out combined "energetic" ingredients of 1400mg for the monster, and 1340mg for the second one, didn't seem much for the sizes.

It is pretty bad!  specially now they start with in schools and pound it in kids heads. Hard for people to be so healthy when everything is against you.

Pepsi MAX. I used to buy many of the energy drinks. Most of them have so much sugar I decided to quit wasting my money on them after trying a Pepsi MAX. Few of the energy drinks ever gave me a noticeable boost. Jolt and 5hr energy were 2 that did. Jolt has a LOT of sugar..5hr none. But Pepsi MAX works for me..has 0 calories and 0 sugar..just extra caffeine and ginseng. It is cheap too if you buy a 12 pack at a grocery store. There are other things that can increase your chances of getting diabetes...getting overweight...lack of exercise...junk food..etc. 12 Pepsi MAX cost about the same as 2 of most of the energy drinks.

It's still on the shelves just not in the diet section. But you're right, I know that almost all the big name stores that sell it require ID or something similar so they can track the amount of it you buy so they can verify you aren't buying a ton of it for a meth lab.

the best for energy is eating a well balanced diet, working out...but b vitamins are pretty good for energy (b6 b12's) eat turkey, liver, liver oil, tuna, chili peppers, lentils, bananas, potatoes, and tempeh (soy based). but you have to look at the deficiencies and benifits before you take substittutes cuz took to much of one thing isnt good ... ol' saying what looks good to ya prolly aint good for ya

yeah but mexico, canada, and other countries sell potatoe sacks of that stuff from little to close to nothing that is why the pharmacy part of the medicine industry is being microscoped by our country and we cant bring it over the boarders with out any scrutiny

Thats why Im looking for a subsitute... Im deploying in FEB and they JUST switched me to graves... I have to STAY UP on my SLEEP TIME so I can get alot of my appointments done. If I fall asleep on shift then thats bad. I would drink coffee but the shit the sell at gas stations is horrible and Starbucks isnt open at that time. Also just FYI I dont play video games... All my time has been spent with the GF, Out processing (my appts.), and work.

CLEARLY you missed what i was getting at... I'll reiterate. There is no need for you to pack your body full of bullshit to have more energy. WITH A BALANCED DIET AND SOLID REST YOU WON'T NEED ENERGY SUBSTANCES. Perhaps in your down time explain to your gf that its in your best health interests for you to get your rest.

Also, if you "NEED" caffeine that bad.. It shouldnt matter what it tastes like, as long as it gets the job done and doesnt kill you in the process. Man up and drink shitty gas station coffee instead of turning yourself into a diabetic.

So I dont have to retype that. I dont think your getting what IM saying so Ill reiterate. I understand that your using eating a blanced diet and getting solid sleep as a substitute but lets face it no one ALWAYS eats right. I dont even eat fast food, Ill eat fried food like twice a week and try to get in my veggies and shit everyday but its hard to do living out of a chow hall thats not open when your awake. Yea I can buy my own food but they take money away from my check so I can eat there. As far as solid rest see above statement. Also for you it may not matter what it tastes like but for me it does. Plus if you re-read the first post to much coffee gives me stomach aches. The GF also understands. Im not cutting sleep to hang with her if thats what you think...
