I never went to college dude. I got married when I was 20, my daughter was born when I was 23 so I had to get a move on and kick some ass. They way I see it in life, I'm not waiting for a damn thing. I'm taking it, I'm getting what I want out of this life. I have had set backs, but I'm going to keep taking and making the best of it all til my last breath and no one is going to stop me

This is probably the most important piece of advice you can ever be given when you have bad experiences in life. My dad was a grade A asshat, but the one thing he did for me is show me what not to do to my wife, and what not to do to my kids. Thanks to him, I now know exactly what to do for my wife and kids and how important it is to be there for your family.

Sorry to hear this man. That is tough, from a prent standpoint though, my son was 4 when I split with his mom. Even though there is time missed there, I know my kids appreciate the time that they have now

Same thing goes for me. My dad cheated on my mom when she was pregneant with me. She caught him cheating at their apartment. My dad is an alcoholic grade A dick. I went 16 years without having a real convo with him, and haven't spoken to him since. He's made our life miserable. I never show it, but inside it sucks not to have had a father in my life. When my grandpa died, I lost the only father figure I've ever had. It's always been, my mom, me, and my sister. My sister suffered the most without having a father. Gone through depression, suicidal thoughts, she was an emotional wreck. But, now she's doing better, because she has a great older brother. I'm glad he ditched us. He turned me into the man I am today.

Good news though: Looks like I'm getting my truck fix for cheap thanks a member on Ranger Stations

Try looking at it like this. Your mom stayed with you the whole time, she was a mother AND a father while you grew up, which sounds like she was a pretty tough woman even though you have rough patches, which is normal. So there may be a reason he left, some people have Dads when that Dad isnt a Dad at all, the Dad could be some dude that you may be better off without. It could be he felt the same as you, not good enough to be a Dad and quit because he felt that way. The biggest question is now, What would YOU do if you were in that position?

Re: FRF Afterhours / BS Thread II
Im the same way. My grandfather is more of a father and I know when he dies Ill probably end up in a mental institution. I know its coming but I dont wanna make myself believe it. The day he dies basically I die. He is my life and I wld do anything for him because he never had to do anything for me.
