I do work with an organization called Food for the Hungry (www.fh.org). Its a Christian Development and Relief Organization present in about 30 countries worldwide. Do most of their work in development with some in relief (they are responding to Japan currently, and have been in Haiti since before the quake). They work in holistic ministry, (providing for peoples physical, and spiritual needs). Usually the team I go with would do a work project, and some kind of project bible study VBS (Vacation Bible School) with young kids in the area. In Kenya I served High school aged boys in the village, and in Ethiopia it was really little kids. This time I think it is going to be a mix. Its VERY rewarding. Africa is an incredible place. I love it there.

That's awesome man. I am not a church goer, not to say I don't believe in a higher power, I just haven't been called there yet, but some of the groups with churches do some awesome things for people around the world. Good to see some people still care. Keep it up man. I'm sure even if you touch one life in a positive way, and lead them to a better path, that will change one more life, and we can all change the world for the better of the common good.

The girl and her sister in the picture I posted in the other thread really touched MY life. She is an amazing young lady. Its funny, because you are there to help them, or to teach them, or whatever, and you end up learning, and seeing a lot yourself. Its really emotional at times too. Usually everyone cries...at least once. And I am a "contagious cryer" so if others cry..I do too..lol

We met an 8 year old girl in the very isolated rural village in Ethiopia who had fallen into a cooking fire, and caught fire herself. They actually had to surgically repair her arm in Addis Ababa (Capitol city of Ethiopia), because the skin fused together at the elbow. It was really sad to see this poor 8 year old girl, with burns all over her face and stuff, yet she was so happy, and had so much joy. That one was hard on me too.

Cryer - Woman!!! Just playing just playing, I understand what you are saying, as much as I have not experienced what you are talking about. I'm sure it is an interesting experience. I like to go out and see things in life, and I think a road trip across Africa in the Ranger would be bad arse! I'd love to hear some of the stories of the people there. I know some will be brutal, but I also know it carries its own beauty there.

haha. I just say I am in touch with my emotions..lol

Yeah, that would be pretty sick. I'd put in an off-road package if I could..lol

Yeah, the desert at night in Kenya, was pretty spectacular. Watching every sunrise/sunset. I saw the sun melt into the desert one night. It was awesome.

Pics? I'm a traveler myself. That's why it saids Road Trippin' King under my name. I've put 62000 miles on my Ranger in just over 2.5 years. I've been in 24 states or something like that in the last year. I grew up out west, and now I work in the east lol

Here is one outside of our mission lodge

----------

Another one, in another village

This is just a fun one. As we landed in our small aircraft at the "landing strip" (we flew in from Nairobi). This Land Rover came driving up to the landing strip. Was like something out of a spy movie..
