They have big ass exhaust tips for the same reasons the Ford diesels do, it helps suck in air, called the venturi effect, to cool the emissions, preventing some of the harmful emissions that are released by diesel engines. It's all about emissions, and they are doing all the stupid things they can to make them burn cleaner
